Firstly, backup Outlook into pst file. Secondly, remove the connections files and all instances. Thirdly, if there are glitches in Outlook operating after that, reinstall Outlook. Lastly, import the pst backup file into Outlook, if there are glitches. If no glitches, you are good to go.

Echo the good sergeant. The social connector utility is just so you can use Outlook with G-mail or Hotmail or other web-based email. Backing up the PST file saves your old emails and can be imported into another email profile.
