My theory is that he loved getting attention. His first trial was a nationwide spectacle and it dominated the news cycle. During his second murder trial just concluded, it was mostly a ho-hum affair. Even though he was acquitted in that one, it didn’t even get one tenth the attention the first trial got. So I think he came to the realization that he just wasn’t as important as he once was and now he had a lifetime of hard time ahead of him with no more opportunity for the limelight. That he couldn’t bear.

Also it has to be eating away at him at all that he threw away. The Patriots have won two more Super Bowls since his incarceration and he could have been part of all that and in the spotlight as one of footballs biggest stars with all the wealth and fame that went with it.

He was still only in his 20s and had his whole life ahead of him. Sad that he gave in to the gangsta lifestyle.

What impressed me is how the Pats handled the whole very bad situation of having a player who proved himself to be a gangsta thug. I didn't hear anything convincing that he wasn't involved in that North Attleboro murder.

It's always sad then someone has more than their share of God-given gifts, and throws it all away.

Another interesting side angle is that Michelle McPhee reported on WEEI on Monday that Aaron Hernandez is actually gay, Odin Lloyd learned of it and talked out about it, and that is why Hernandez killed him. Maybe the outing was too much for him.

I didn’t follow this crime (crimes?) but what a sad story. I guess all he is now is an example of how NOT to act when you are given an opportunity most kids would only dream of. You CAN f it up by evil behavior.
