Gorka says president made pragmatic call on Syrian strike, suggests little risk of escalation

Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to the president, said on Friday morning that President Donald Trump’s populist supporters need not fear that the decision to strike a Syrian government target last week represents an embrace of neoconservatism.

“It’s not a modification,” Gorka said Friday on “The Laura Ingraham Show.” “Donald J. Trump hasn’t changed from November 7 to Good Friday, April 14,” he said.

“This isn’t 2003, this isn’t 1991 and the Gulf War, and the president has not changed one bit,” Gorka said. “This is not the Bush administration, and it is not neoconservatism.”

A neocon is a poser, a fake, a fraud. He’s the entrenched career establishment republican, who’s good with nation building adventure$, globalism, free trade robbery, open borders and biz as usual for the D.C. insiders. A neocon is all about profits regardless of consequences or what it means to America or Americans etc. Hope this helps clear things up for ya!

Right you are.

And supporters of the Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned us about.

DJT is for a strong military but not the Military Industrial Complex.

Saddam Hussein would have rolled on through Saudi Arabia if w hadn’t stopped him

So? I can see significant upsides to that scenario.

And neocons are usually in support of the Globalist agenda. They want the US Military to protect the Globalist agenda.

-—I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States——

What part of my description in my comment does not fall under his oath?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it I again this is a Chess match and Trump is the master player.

There have been many occasions over the last few years where Trump has made moves which seem odd to the average man, yet in hindsight were strokes of genius. The guy is constantly thinking three steps ahead of everyone else.

The only difference between a NeoCon and a liberal:

A liberal gets their jollies by playing Santa Clause with other people’s money, while

A NeoCon get their jollies by playing General Patton with other people’s kids.

Exactly in the early 90s we were so dependant on ME for oil it would had brought the world to a halt for Hussein to take all of the Arabian peninsula. But we learned that lesson and have since turned to fracking here and other methods

Well said and right on. And during the Democrat primaries Bush and Cheney had intelligence on Obama and knew all about him. Obama was a dedicated America hater and they knew it.

And to think McCain was the GOPe candidate to oppose him is a travesty and disgrace.

All need to stop trying to put Trump into the box of their own making.....He follows another drumbeat altogether and they STILL don’t get it!

He is willing to compromise though and give a little to the military industrial complex. Like his pretend bombing of Syria where he blew up millions for no reason.

Basic civics. We are not a corporation. And the President’s job is not to grow and develop the Republic. That is the job of people who are not in government.

What you describe as the role of the President sounds a lot more like fascism or even perhaps the Soviet system.

Thanks for the unneeded civils lesson.

My comment was more about Trump mentality rather than an actual job description...

It is his job to remove the obstacles to let the people grow and build the Republic...

You are reading far too much into the comment...

I am very aware of how the Republic is run...and have been for decades...

I don’t know what you’re talking about.

You think demanding that politicians live up to their sworn oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, including the Bill of Rights, is ‘putting him in a box’? That’s how you look at it?

You need to lay of the smoke and study American history a little harder - and not the Common Core version either.

How long have you been wearing that ball and chain?

“Quick! Someone post a rumor from a blog, with an “insider source” that says Trump is going the jail Bannon, and appoint Romney as he co-president!”

DUDE!

Now you’ve done it! InfoWars will publish the above, and then the next thing you know, CNN will have Mike Cernovich on a tape loop running for next 144 hours repeating what you just said over and over again, quoting “reliable sources” from Free Republic!

You may understand it (I was not trying to be condescending) but there seem to be many posters on this forum who do not.

I am a Constitutionalist....so get off your high horse.

We are not now living under a Constitutional society or we wouldn't be in the dang trouble we're in now. Think on that a minute or two...and roll it over several times in the brain you've been given to engage situations with.

Furthermore Trump is 'with certainty' going through the motions and the hoops to “ restore constitutional authority” to this nation...we aren't there yet.... there's certainly some wars to be fought before that happens and frankly I don't care if people like the way he's going about it or not.........I say give him all the space he needs to do so regardless of what it looks like to us.....and it isn't going to look like it from our perspective while he's working within the system Obama hijacked and sabotaged ....

It is very difficult to see and hear those here with higher expectations than possible 'at this moment' when our government is far more than just in disarray....it's in shambles ....Trumps administration isn't even in place and you dare to grumble!...and that with all he's already accomplished while the entire broken political system is opposing him and his team. Shame on you!

So put your snarly comments where the sun doesn't shine.....and get behind our President and stop playing the role of a snowflake with your belly aching that Trumps not doing things your way!!!

I’m giving the President and any other politician all the room they need without criticism...until I see any of them going down the wrong road.

Sorry, but I vote, pay taxes, obey the law, and contribute to the future of my community and this country. I have every right to hold my elected officials’ feet to the fire as I see fit. But I also give him major kudos quite often as well.

I know full well the state of our nation at this point in time. That’s why I voted for Donald Trump. ‘We the People’...think about what that means.

I suggest you toughen up a bit, sister. Maybe quite a bit.

Do yourself a favor and learn the difference between constructive criticism and trying to derail a presidency.

And stop being such a horse’s ass!

“I say give him all the space he needs to do so regardless of what it looks like to us...”

And by the way, many of us did this with GWB many years ago. BIG and very costly mistake - not going down that road again. Too much is at stake this time around.

Since you’re into hero worshiping maybe you should spend more time watching Wonder Woman or Super Girl instead of the realities of politics and civics.

Feel well.

If you want a discussion of opinions that's one thing....but your snarly comments, BTW from the get go and increasing in short order, indicate you're inability to handle a civilized conversation. .....Drop them or it ends here.
