His commander did not sign off on his second job (at least I hope he didn’t) and behavior that makes the service look bad. He might lose his pension and Tricare retiree benefits along with VA benefits.
The problem is this: we’ve thrown God out of our culture, and this is the result.
Do you disagree? How are things going in our republic? Do you see more generosity? Loving our neighbors? Daily kindness to strangers? No, the ‘new norm’ is hate, narcissism and division.
Where are young men to find role models? At one time, it was among our military heroes. This man is a shame to America, and to the US Navy.
You know, putting on strictly secular glasses, there hardly seems to be a problem, unless it’s a technical one with rules that still maintain a degree of fig leaf.
Have the Village People proven prophets with “In The Navy”? I believe they have, though prophets of the devil to be sure.
Expecting the world to act like anything more special than the world seems to be a vain concept without lifting up a God who has a particular, hallowed purpose which is above anything the world can begin to conceive of unaided. Even the lauded heroism of the world has now degraded into the worldly, rather than reflecting the holy as it used to do. And so it becomes embroiled in vain violence.
I say “Come, Lord Jesus” but not without fear and trembling, because I, too, am a sinner. I have fallen and still fall short of the glory of God. Were it not for the guarantee of God’s mercy in causing us to be brought to the glory of God, we should expect to only perish as sacrifices to His unattainable holiness. As it is, we do die in the body, but we who trust in Christ for redemption are delivered perfect and living forever to heaven.
