We did for Saddam. Saddam said he was going to deploy dirty nukes to US Soil. Bush went in and smeared his underwear all over his face for that one.
Look what the media did to that. Buried it deep, deep and deeper still.

Even if the chemical attacks were fake (They likely were) then the inspections of gas weapons found in Syria had Cyrillic written all over them spelling out return addresses somewhere north of Georgia.
If the US found a TON of chemical weapons in Syria as supplied by Russia - With the support of NATO or even without the support of NATO - and then asked Russia about them -—— I think Russia would say “Yeah, why don’t you just go ahead and get rid of those. We’ll get out of the way.”
The irony there is that that Saddam shipped his chemical weapons to Syria before we attacked him.
