The list of “witnesses” are sealed but do you wonder how many work for the school and/or are students?
Why all the hush hush?
What are they going to do when the people are dragged into court and deny any knowledge of what happened other than what has been in the news? Call them liars?
Well you know in time they have ways of finding things out. can always get them for perjury after all they are not Bill Clinton.
Is this a case where she ran away, aided by the teacher, or was she taken against her will?
I think that’d be a “distinction without a difference”, as Mr. Quinn Sr. used to say. That teacher is a predator taking advantage of a child either way.
How old is the girl?
If they have good legal advice, they will take the Fifth.
Fifteen.
Yes.
Elizabeth will kill Tad and get away with it.
Interesting prediction. It’s been known to happen.
Cannot find the date of birth for Elizabeth Thomas. As we have discussed on previous threads - the age of consent in many States is 16. Of course she is now only 15 and Cummins will still be charged for his heinous acts.
They both might claim there has been no sexual intercourse, unless she becomes pregnant. He has probably done research on contraception too.
She’s below the age of consent in TN, and the perv with her doesn’t have legal custody.
Age of consent here in TN is 18.
If I were a betting man, I would say that the two of them split for a new life somewhere.
Someplace without extradition like Costa Rica. Plenty of American Ex-pats there with outstanding warrants.
The more I read the more it looks like she was taken against her will. Somehow he used threats to get her to go.
I went back and read some of the other articles and threads on this story. I get the same impression. Initially, I suspected witnesses might not be talking because it was a case of young lovers running away together. Then I read up on the case, and saw that she’s 15 and he’s 50 and married. Her family situation appears to be really messed up, and it sounds as though he manipulated her at a minimum and may well have coerced her. Either way, I think he’s a predator.
