Do you have his SS #, many records of that era Veterans went up in smoke. We got my dad’s through the VA.
Cheapest method is cremation, vases can be ordered at a reasonable price via net, vs funeral home. In ground you are looking at $8K or more. I just did that for my non-military brother it was his wish. He had enough in the bank to pay most of the cremation, and SS kicks in $250. That paid for just cremation, no visitation or any thing else. They offered $300 urns. I found a brass one that can be engraved on line for $79.00 I chose the leaf one. http://www.stardust-memorials.com/brass-urns-and-metal-urns.html and paid the extra for over night. We held a memorial at my sisters, made up our own flower arrangements as they wanted to charge an arm and a leg for a ring of flowers to go around it. Got a cake from Walmart in Memory of and a deli tray and chips/drinks. Sis put out photos, and I just read a couple of Bible verses with old fashion hymns from a CD.

hello lmo56, I am the oldest of two sons of Robert clem, james, I never really knew my father, he left us when I was very young, we are trying to find out any medical records available as my younger brother is having health issues. Also would be nice to find out more about him, was never able to contact him when he was living. Hope you get this and return post, I can provide my contact info per your response. thank you, James
