It was hot in south Florida yesterday, so the SS is getting all set up for the Chinese President’s visit. They discovered, thru diplomatic channels, that President Xi cannot take the hot humid weather because of his age.
So the installed in his rooms a fanfaronade...................
Old St. Patrick took a spade,
Buried idols Druids made,
And then, with fanforanade,
Chased the snakes from every glade.
With a Shamrock, then he bade,
The Triune God, the petals made.
Then, with each great escapade,
A Christian Ireland was made.
For years the people hoped and prayed,
When famine, at their door was laid,
To the New World a journey made,
To jobs, and homes, and taxes paid,
Americans, so glad they stayed!
But others want to make a raid,
And make St. Patrick’s mem’ry fade,
To steal the rainbow that God made,
And spoil the St. Patrick’s day Parade.
Sesquipedalianism isn’t nice
when fewer syllables will suffice.
Evincing fanfaronade
or rhodomontade
is seldom worth the price.
Trump’s fanfaronade,
while I wish that it would fade,
is his stock in trade.
