I’m so conflicted on this. On the one hand, I wouldn’t want my 15 yr old running off with a married man who is probably older than her own parents. On the other hand, what if her home life is more dysfunctional than this relationship...what if her mother is found guilty of the 4 counts of felony child abuse that she’s been charged with? I look back 2 - 3 generations ago at our great-grandparents. My gr-grandfather married a 12 year old when he was 41 (her step-father signed giving her legal permission). My husband’s gr-uncle was 61 when he married a 17 yr old girl. I just don’t know where the truth lies in this girl’s situation. Since the man’s wife has filed for divorce, he & this girl will probably be legally married in some state within 8 months. What happens then?

The girl is below the TN. age of consent. Crimes have been committed. They don’t just go away, when wifey files for divorce. This guy is toast.

Found a chart showing the ‘age of consent’ for all 50 States and many of them are 16. Wonder what her birthdate is.

My opinion is that he planned this abduction back in January and probably had other resources & another car available. Also more money than the $4,500.

Wonder how soon a judge will grant the wife her divorce. If it’s just a few months, he can marry Elizabeth who will likely be pregnant in a few weeks.

This is a modern day drama indeed. Hope he doesn’t panic and commit a murder/suicide. He seems to have too much ego for that.

In all states, to get married before 18, you need parental consent, which won't be happening here.

Her dad did not know the abuse was going on. When he found out he broke down. Then he kicked out the so called mother. In my book he was a real dad! He did the best he could. One of the sisters said Elizabeth should have received counseling, not sure why all the sisters who were abused did not. With that said go on and listen to Nancy Grace's podcasts. Elizabeth was not the only girl this man targeted. Nancy interviewed another girl. You knew there were others. If Elizabeth gets out of this monster's grasp alive she is darn lucky

My gr gr grandfather married a 16 yr old girl as his second wife. He was 59 with 5 young children when he married her.

You make some good points, but a situation like this STILL isn’t considered, ‘normal’ behavior for an adult male, married or not.

And that’s saying a LOT since ‘normal’ has been turned upside down thanks to the Socialist Democrat Party of America!
