I remember when I was a kid, and the local bank would leave its safe open to show you how thick the door was, so you'd feel safe about leaving your money there. I used to walk over and check it out. Of course, I lived in a very boring city that wasn't blessed by diversity, which is our strength because we are a nation of immigrants going forward together for the children, and sustainable fish. Bullet-proof glass- this is much better- isn't it??
I wonder if the bullet proof glass was installed to protect the black customers from the white shooters ..../s
This is not new. I saw a lot of this when I lived in the area 25+ yrs. ago.
You convinced me at sustainable whales.
That White Castle had the same bullet proof plexiglass on the counter, and a plexiglass Lazy Susan to get your food.
just an observation...the door on the left is wood.
A couple of rounds properly placed and it would be open pretty quick.
Note to travelers...
Never stay in a motel where the clerk is behind
2” thick ballistic glass.
It’s just not a good idea.
“I can probably go another half hour and twenty miles without a burger right now...”
Ordering a meal at Jim Dandy Fried Chicken on Vermont Ave. in South-Central Los Angeles is like doing business at some banks. The cashiers sit behind a heavy bullet-proof glass window, and you make your payment by placing it in a box that slides through a metal chute. The box comes back with your change and later with your order.
Nonetheless, the chicken is far better than what you get at KFC.
