Russian troops are within 'hand-grenade range' of American forces in parts of Syria, sparking fears of escalated tension in the region.
The two nations are working together with Kurdish YPG fighters in the country to combat ISIS in Syria and neighboring Iraq.

My first thought as well.
Probably trading insignia and rations with each other.
Why are American forces in Syria?
Did I miss a Declaration of War passed by Congress?
The Americans are getting liquor from the Russians who don’t believe in creating stupid rules.
When we are saving your azz, we tell you what to do.
In 1973 during the October War in the Mediterranean Ocean, USS Independence (CV/CVA-62) frequently had a Russian destroyer in one of the open plane guard positions.
Killing radical Islamists
I’d be very surprised if by now Trump doesn’t have people talking with Putin’s people about what to do here. Trump doesn’t believe in pointless wars, and radical Islam is the enemy here.
Trading unit patches, insignias, berets, caps, bayonets, exotic ration items, what fun to do a linkup with Spetznaz!
I have always gotten along well with foreign specops units I’ve rubbed elbows with. I’d trade most of them for our own leftard welfare rats.
Maybe Congress ought to declare a war on jihadists. It wouldn’t be the first time. Remember the Barbary Pirates?
***News Flash****
They are working together to get rid of ISIS
Amazing what kind of synergy could be had between Russia and the USA once silly egotistic pride is factored out. Their interests now and our interests now are more similar than different. And there is a common party pooper threatening both — the jihadists.
F’n media wants a war with Russia. I guess they think it’s good for business; body count be damned.
The media is just crazy.
I would trust the Russian troops more than I would trust their remote leaders. I’ll bet they all get along just fine.
I like to think of it as “baseball” range.
Especially now that Russia has embraced a measure of capitalism. It has some socialist things going on still, but this isn’t a matter of purity, it’s a matter of degree.
Socialism never did work. Nobody had a real reason to be profitable under it.
You’ve been around way too long to be that naive.
The unfortunate reality is that US forces are there in open support of Al-Qaeda and other jihadists in defiance of the distinctly non-jihadist, lawful government there.
As Declaration of War has been issued, authorizing such a deployment, every US soldier participating there is in violation of his oath.
Probably going to wish each other happy Easter before long.
As “no” declaration of war...
Well anyhow, yes, that is what Obama send them there to do. That doesn’t mean Trump has to keep that up.
