FULL TITLE: Georgia couple battles state for the right to give their child, ZalyKha Graceful Lorraina, the surname Allah
A Georgia couple is bringing the state to court for refusing to legally grant their daughter the last name 'Allah'.
Couple Elizabeth Handy and Bilal Walk have been trying to name their 22-month-old daughter ZalyKha Graceful Lorraina Allah, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The Georgia Department of Public Health has refused to give the toddler the last name of Allah because state law dictates that a child's last name must be that of the mother, the father or a combination of the two - all depending on whether the couple is married. Handy and Walk were not.

Wasn’t there a couple a few years back who wanted to name their child Hitler?
The alternative would be “Handy-Walk”.
Yeah, but all her little friends on the playground will call her “Allah-Aktard” for short.
While they’re making terrible making decisions, I’ll give them these suggestions for future offspring.
Calm Medea, Sly Phyllis, Gunna Rhea.
Maybe this guy?
Not like it’s a real common name.........
Change the last name to Burka.
Probably not the father’s real name anyway. In the Middle East I never saw one of the locals use the name Bilal. Every time I did encounter it was a Westerner convert.
Despite the predicament, ZalyKha’s three-year-old brother, Masterful Mosirah Aly Allah, was able to keep his surname.
Methinks the state is on shaky ground here since she has a brother with the same last name...
They are trying to advance an agenda, not accomplish a name change. All the little bastard’s (that’s a long established legal term of art) mother needs to do is change her own name, and then match the child’s name to hers.
Of course, she’d be better off spending her money on either getting psychiatric help or her time sewing matching mother-daughter suicide vests.
State can’t tell you what to name your child. These parents are kookoo but that is beside the point
Good find. Mugshots.com has pretty much the same info on him. They gave his address, and a simple search of that was quite revealing. In 2014, a neighbor rescued three children from the burning house, while the mother stood outside, screaming. The property is listed on foreclosure.com, as having been foreclosed on by the lender, and now up for sale.
A lot of crime in the neighborhood, including a driveby shooting of a girl at a back-to-school party last year.
Some people lead boring lives, or live so far off the grid there really is nothing to see. Not so with this guy. He’s a treasure trove of crime drama material. LOL
Why not call her “Abd Allah” - slave of Allah?
Wouldn’t that be better?
Understood...but apparently GA thinks it can and does.
Wonder how many other names are rejected in the course of a year...or 5.
I imagine if it were a lot, there would have already been lawsuits.
I prefer GTFO. :-)
I was just going to say, “Handy-Walk” has a nice ring to it! LOL!
“State cant tell you what to name your child.....”
That’s right tell them Sharkeisha
Cold Medina (they could call her Funky!)
