We've all seen pages being slow to load / partial page loads for the last couple months. This goes beyond that. Two things I'm seeing:
1) Blank pages being "served". You hit a link, and get a blank page.
2) Connection errors - This is happening when posting a comment. When posting, I get a "server connection reset" error.
Is it time to swap out the hamsters running the FR servers for some fresh ones?
Yes, getting nothing on screen
Plus about 8TB of storage ... for movies, tunes, images, scribblings, etc
They are re-programming the Matrix.
I had trouble accessing the site earlier today, as well. The problem lasted for hours.
Keep this handy. You won’t be logged in but this will side step DNS that may be happening.

This issue isn’t DNS, but that’s a worthwhile thing to know.
Cool!
It took 7 minutes to get this web post to open
There is no excuse for that
Facebook tries to block some posts from here.
Yes, same here. John R. did some work on the problem today (Sunday) about Noon, but FR remains slow...slower than 63% of the sites on the Internet...4.4 seconds to load the main page on average.
See: https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/craTX/http://www.freerepublic.com
I don’t know enough about Facebook to know, but it wouldn’t surprise me. That is a separate issue having nothing to do with the FR web server/thread database issues I am fairly certain are the root cause here.
Indeed. Yesterday was awful. I hope today is better! :-)
