Drudge doesn’t exist for self affirmation. The health care deal was a disaster. Most of them are buffoons on this issue. Trump supported a cornerstone bill that went against the people who voted for him.

“Trump should never have gotten on board with Ryan’s plan in the first place.”

According to Trump, it was a great plan:

Trump said Ryan’s bill is better than Americans realized.

“A lot of people don’t realize how good our bill was because they were viewing phase one. But when you add phase two which was mostly the signs of secretary price who is behind it, and you add phase three which I think we would have gotten, it became a great bill,” Trump said. “Premiums would have gone down and it would have been very stable, would have been very strong. But that’s okay.

“But we’re very, very close,” he said. “And, again, I think what will happen is ObamaCare, unfortunately, will explode.”

Trump upset with Democrats — not House Freedom Caucus — for failed GOP health-care vote
March 24, 2017

From a simple google search:

“President Trump declared Friday that the real reason the GOP plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare failed was because there were “no votes from the Democrats.”...
...Trump said he was “a little surprised” by the House Freedom Caucus’ refusal to support the GOP-backed bill, but insisted they were still friends...
... he maintained that Republican leaders’ decision Friday to pull the vote was “perhaps the best thing that could happen.” “The best thing politically speaking is to let ObamaCare explode,” Trump said, predicting Democrats will eventually “come to us.”

It looked to me like Ryan was the driver in Driving Miss Daisy (Trump) on this healthcare fix. They should have just plain, old repealed it, with a grace period for people to find their own insurance before it incinerated on its own. Replace it or not later.

Trump is experienced and successful. But he is not a politician. He will learn to drive the car himself and not leave it up to the RINOs and establishment politicians to drive the car to where he wants to get to. They will veer off road and crash the dang car into the ditch and he will catch all the blame.

Live and learn. On to tax reform next, which they should have started off with to begin with. Taxes are Trump's forte as a businessman.

Get corporate taxes down. It will create jobs. Which will boom the economy. Which will get him re-elected.

People with new jobs and cash in their pockets will not elect a democRAT in 2020.

It’s no disaster. It’s a good thing that it was not passed. Obamacare is a disaster and we’ll see it this year.

If the Republicans would repeat the meme that dems own obamacare, it would help their case. However, the media will not do anything to inform the public that the impending disaster is caused by the dems, and will let the idiotic public blame the disaster on the Republicans.

The public is really stupid. Ryancare was not going to go into effect for about another year. The disaster of obamacare is going to happen this year. If Ryancare had passed, the stupid public would have blamed the disaster on Ryancare.

Let the disaster of obamacare happen, and blame it on the dems. (Republicans are too stupid to put the blame where it lays, and will say nothing, like a bunch of wimpy a$$holes.)

“Trump is experienced and successful. But he is not a politician. He will learn to drive the car himself and not leave it up to the RINOs...”

He doesn’t have to be a politician to know that Ryan is against him. Why people forget that Ryan worked against Trump during the election I don’t know. But I doubt he’s chxnged and I doubt that Ryan is suddenly respecting the wishes of the electorate and working with Trump. Ryan had no plan put together. He wanted a democrat for president as did all the rinos Ryan scrambled this plan together under secrecy and with what economic advice? What medical administrative experts helped him?

If trump had put together a plan, what do people think Ryan would have done with it?

I think president Trump should let obamacare implode under its own weight. Let the people see how really bad this democrat scheme is. The rats will have to deal with it when that happens.

I thinking Matt is directing his criticism to Ryan, not Trump.

Ryan continues as a failure and the perception is that he tainted the President.

However, the Trump movement knows very well the President kept his promise and is keeping his promise. The bond with the voters is not broken, Thus, the President is intact.

I am starting to think I'll just not go there

I haven't gone to the Drudge site in years. I got tired of constantly seeing LGBT links on his site.

Sorry stanne, you don’t get to cherry pick a few words and create your narrative...it was VERY clear from the call made to Robert Costa right after the vote that he is very disappointed in the Freedom Caucus and he knows it was their fault the bill went down..

Him also blaming the Democrats is just good politics.

Trump was VERY clear..he gave the FC almost everything that they wanted and it wasn’t good enough for them. He also made it known that they led him on until he gave them 80% of what they wanted and the still said no.

Stop deluding yourself about this...Trump blamed the Freedom Caucus right away and he did it loud and clear, which is why all the DC and national news outlets are running the same theme ... “the ultra conservative Freedom Caucus killed the bill”...that’s what is running on CNN and that is what’s running on my local cable news.

He also made it VERY clear that the next bill he puts up will not include all the demands from the FC but will be a bipartisan bill.

Congratulations Freedom Caucus...you won the battle to lose the war!!

Agree, criticism meant to be constructive. We’ve just lived through a train wreck, time to get back on track. Tell your congresspersons.

“Live and learn. On to tax reform next, which they should have started off with to begin with.”

There was a reason they started with health care...the new bill would have given them an extra $1.5-2 trillion dollars to apply to the tax reform bill.

Don’t keep putting lipstick on the pig...this was a HUGE mistake on the part of the Freedom Caucus!! The loss of the expected revenue will make everything else Trump wants to do that much harder...tax reform, infrastructure, the Wall...

Trump knows now not to trust the Freedom Caucus and he will never make that mistake again. And don’t count on Bannon backing them up...it won’t happen. I’m sure Bannon knows what Trump knows; that this was a setup for Cruz 2020.

I didn’t so much cherry pick but google what did Trump say about tge freedom caucus. I provided a quote

Would you care to do the same? I’d be interested to read what negative thing you heard Trump say about them

Maybe I’m incorrect

But If I wanted to get rid of Obamacare I’d go about it this very same way

Drudge may be among the 10% of conservatives and other right thinking people who have their heads screwed on backwards over Ryancare.

I wouldn’t fret over it. They’ll all come around.

“I’d be interested to read what negative thing you heard Trump say about them”

Trump made this phone call right after the call with Ryan to pull the bill...Trump called the reporter!! not the other way around.

Hello, Bob’: President Trump called my cellphone to say that the health-care bill was dead
https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/president-trump-called-my-cellphone-to-say-that-the-health-care-bill-was-dead/2017/03/24/8282c3f6-10ce-11e7-9b0d-d27c98455440_story.html?utm_term=.2ce85dd6e336

“I mentioned to Trump that some of his allies were frustrated with Ryan....

“I don’t blame Paul,” Trump said....He then repeated the phrase: “I don’t blame Paul. He worked very hard on this.”

And again...“I don’t blame Paul at all.”

On the Freedom Caucus:

“I think they made a mistake, but that’s okay,” Trump said of the Freedom Caucus

I asked: Would working on a bipartisan health-care deal a year from now be something he would find more agreeable than whipping the hard right?

“A lot of people might say that,” Trump said, laughing. “We’ll end up with a better health-care plan. A great plan. AND YOU WOULDN’T NEED THE FREEDOM CAUCUS.”

What about the moderates, the Tuesday Group?

“They were great,” Trump said. “They were really great.”

It doesnt matter to me whether my opinion on this turns out to be right or wrong. I’m not a liberal. I don’t have any need for people to see it the way I do. But I’m sure about this even more so after reading the quote you provided.

What I see here is Trump getting step 1 accomplished.

You disagree. Ok.
