Was this the case where somebody was cheating or the ex-wife lied about him doing something, then a low-speed — not high-speed — car chase? I don’t even know what keywords or title words to look for to find the initial story.

A year-plus to go to trial, “murder and attempted murder” bargained down to “manslaughter”, like he hit the kid in his driveway instead of emptying his pistol, and the other cop isn’t even in the story any more. Must be nice.

From the link below (Stafford is the convicted cop, Few was driving the car):

“Stafford testified Friday that he shot at the car because he feared Few was going to back up and hit the other deputy, Norris Greenhouse Jr.”

So evidently Few wasn’t backing up. The cop was afraid that Few MIGHT back up.
