Florida cop-killer case reassigned after prosecutor declines death penalty (Huge Local Outrage!)
Fox News ^

Florida’s governor has reassigned a case involving the killing of an Orlando police officer after a prosecutor said she would not seek the death penalty.

The governor took State Attorney Aramis Ayala off the Cop Killer Markieth Loyd case after her office announced it would no longer seek the death penalty in any case.

“I am outraged and sickened by this loss of life and many families’ lives have been forever changed because of these senseless murders. These families deserve a state attorney who will aggressively prosecute Markeith Loyd to the fullest extent of the law,” Scott said in the statement.

Through an executive order, the case was handed off to State Attorney Brad King, a prosecutor in a neighboring district northwest of Orlando.

Loyd faces two first-degree murder counts and other charges in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend Sade Dixon and Lt. Debra Clayton. Authorities have said Dixon was fatally shot at her home in December and that Clayton was gunned down Jan. 9 outside a Wal-Mart while attempting to capture Loyd.

Ayala defended her decision on Thursday, saying capital punishment in Florida has led to “chaos, uncertainty and turmoil.”

"I have given this issue extensive, painstaking thought and consideration," Ayala said at a news conference Thursday.

Ayala’s decision caused outrage in Florida, especially from Orlando Police Chief John Mine.

“I have seen the video of Markieth Loyd executing Lt. Debra Clayton while she lay defenseless on the ground. She was given no chance to live. A cop killer – who also killed his pregnant girlfriend should not be given a chance,” Mine said in a statement posted on Twitter. “The heinous crimes that he committed in our community are the very reason we have the death penalty as an option under the law.”

Here is the bottom line: Alaya is a Radical Black who Seros snuck in with huge amounts of campaign money in November. Her husband is a convicted drug dealer!!!

She is very much in the mold of that Baltimore DA who tried to crucify the cops there, and even the Black judges would not accept her BS.

Alaya promised during the campaign that she was pro-death penalty, but has now removed it in this case of the multiple murderer who killed a widely-respected Black female police lieutenant. Deb Clayton did everything she could to help ALL kids, Black, Brown and White. She got Mrs. Strac for 52 in a 35 a few years ago, and simply said "Please slow down. You seem like a nice lady. I don't want to pull your body our of a wreck."

Not only did she remove DP in this horrendous case, but in ALL cases, even child-murderer-rapists. The man replacing her on the current Cop Killer case will put the DP back on.

Orlando is outraged by this. If I had more then one cup of coffee, I'd tell you how incredibly outraged we all are.

Millions of dollars of last minute campaign dollars from Seros, and a sitting SA, who was a pretty good SA, but a lousy politician... and a huge “Elect a Sistah” campaign.

I love that the police chopper turned the camera away when he fell down multiple times and injured his eye that way during his arrest.

It was the worst case of self-inflicted-wound I’ve ever seen.

I agree, and my black coworkers are outraged as well, they’re furious. Our once conservative Orlando area is changing FAST.

This gal was purchased by Soros and has apparently made a choice. She’s chosen “the community” over the law. And worse, she’s now a slave.

We have to stop looking at skin or gender when picking people for anything. Martin Luther King must be spinning in his grave as his dream of a world that judges on content of their character is being destroyed.

Good for the governor, he did the right thing.

I wonder how she feels now that Dylann Roof is on death row? Where’s her moral outrage? Not that this POS doesn’t deserve to get it, but in typical leftist fashion they’re very hood at picking and choosing their fights aren’t they?

Martin Luther King must be spinning in his grave as his dream of a world that judges on content of their character is being destroyed....

People like Moseby and Alaya have no content of character to measure. The are imbued with the savage tribal urges of a canibal and that is their functional level.
