One of only three BOC songs that enjoy airplay on the classic rock station I listen to regularly.
Sure, it’s a good song (as are “Don’t Fear The Reaper” and “Godzilla”), but come on, guys. Would it kill you to occasionally play “Astronomy” or “Cities on Flame”?

Yes, I know SNL was mocking another of their songs, but:

Good song. But I remember at the time that they were criticized for “selling out” and “going commercial” with this song.

Friend of mine was a hell raiser before he turned devout Christian. Had a tape of some overly religious guy talking about backwards masking and other hidden satanic messages in rock songs. We were laughing at all of the points the speaker brought up and then he came to this song. According to the “preacher” the singer is burning in hell.

Way off track - thread hijack of sorts - but I just found out today that Emerson Lake and Palmer's "Fanfare for the Common Man" was just a sort of improv jam session that they recorded on a single mike while hanging out in Switzerland.
Became a hit single.

Saw them in 1974 at the Ampitheatre in Chicago. 4th row, center right.
I blame them for my hearing loss to this day.
