Boyfriend pleads guilty to child abuse in beating death of girlfriend’s toddler

Had it not been for a scheduling conflict for her normal baby sitter, 2-year-old Aaliyah Lewis might have spent the day with her grandfather. Had she not been potty-trained with repeated lashings from a belt and hanger, the toddler might not have required a trip to the hospital. And had her mother sought help right away when she saw her daughter’s injuries, the young girl might have survived.

Instead, Aaliyah was baby-sat April 21, 2016, by her mother’s boyfriend, Jamarius Devonti Graham. Graham acknowledged physically punishing the toddler — spanking her 20 times with a belt and striking her with a plastic hanger until it broke — after she had an accident on his bed, according to state investigators. He and the child’s mother waited nearly 90 minutes after Aaliyah started having breathing problems before seeking help.

the children are seen as an imposition. They don't think those children are "cute" or endearing.

Many times the children find the new father an imposition - or worse. Some work very hard to destroy the marriage.

I’m in tears, she was a beautiful little girl. This cruel treatment of children all over the country means that even if they remain healthy, they rarely have a chance of a decent life. Thinking of Chicago and all the ghetto cities and all the poor little kids who grow up in these dangerous, disgusting places.

I don’t know what your issue is, but the women who stay with these deadbeats are regularly castigated for it.

And some right here on this very thread.

Besides, the guy IS to blame for what he did. Even if the woman wrongly chooses to stay with him, she DID NOT make him beat that child. He did it all by himself. of his own free will.

There is no reason to blame anyone else. He’s a grown man who can control his own body. He is 100% at fault for what he CHOSE to do.
