This Nor'easter, named Stella, is coming on like a son of a gun! My sidewalks are already indistinguishable in height from the lawn on either side. I spent a lot of Monday preparing to be snowed in: moved up medical appointments to Monday morning, topped up the gas in my car, corrected deficiencies in food staples supplies (shelves were already conspicuously bare in many aisles), laid in a good supply of crickets for my lizards, studied weather reports, and checked on friends.
How have you in the Northeast prepared for Stella? If you stay home, how are you going to pass the time during the blizzard?
"Male meatballs?" No thanks. You probably don't have enough to share anyway,.
Stay warm.
Geneva. Starting to accumulate now. 3-4 inches on the ground and falling steady.
LOL. Just what I was thinking.
My daughter’s name is Stella, who knows how many little Stellas will come into the world shortly. I picked the name because it’s obviously very pretty, and was different enough without being off the wall (I have a very unusual name and it’s been a lifelong pain in the ass for me). But now it’s looking to be much more popular. My Stella is 10 and there are already 2 more Stellas in Kindergarten at her school. Bummer. Hope it’s not the new Isabelle/Michaela/Brittany. :(
One thing my mom said yesterday, if this storm is named Stella it’s going to be a very gentle, pretty one. Looks like she might be right!
same in Watkins
Rainstorm here at the Jersey Shore.
We have our old woodstove fired up, and we’re here in the
south on the river. It’s cold here, too.
All stay safe and warm
Just a beautiful dusting here.
Enough for fur babies to play in!
You were right. Right now, the biggest blast of blustery winds is the tripe from Mayor DumblASSio's corrupt lying mouth on the radio at the moment. I simply can't stand to hear his voice any more, as I know whatever he's saying is either an outright lie, some garbage from his Commie agenda, or something just plain stupid, and I have little patience for patently stupid.
It is raining/sleeting now in NYC. Hard to see out the window. My cats are glad to be inside, warm and cozy. So am I. All the storm preps I did yesterday were not in vain, as I needed the food anyway and the car needed gas.
There is plenty of stuff that needs doing around here, so I will get to it now. Happy snow day!
So far, we have about 3 inches of snow in the Baldwinsville - Fulton , NY area.
The good news from Southern CA.
It’s in the 80’s and not a cloud in the Sky.
The bad news from Southern CA.
It’s in CA.
Just heard on the radio, since I spent a long time outside with the snowblower, that the public has been ordered to stay off the roads in Dutchess County.
ha ha! I used to live in NH for about 5 seconds (Manchester)
Almost in the river bottom, but up on a hill - not too far
from Columbia, Tennessee; Dutchess County sounds like it’s
up north somewhere. We still have winter down south.
We’re high enough up off the bottom that if we ever flood
at the house, the entire town of Columbia would be under
water. (Learned our lesson 36 yrs. ago the hard way by being
gullible enough to buy a house that was on the Harpeth
River where the floods made it possible to take a boat in
our back yard.)
Cheers.
btw they were no different than beef pork veal meatballs
just as tasty though
