Trump Can Only Destroy Himself
Vanity ^ | 3/13/17 | pgyanke

Dear President Trump,

In the words of General Akbar:

RyanCare is an insult to those who swept the GOP into power with a mandate to undo Obamacare. The issue was never about who our overlords were, it was about liberty. RyanCare is simply more of the same government control of areas in which it has no authority.

At its root, national healthcare is itself the problem. There is no basis in law whereby the Federal Government has the authority to compel a free people into private contracts. That's what insurance is... a private contract between the insured and the insurer. Any law that doesn't take that reality into consideration should be a non-starter.

Do a full repeal.

Don't listen to the doom-sayers who are simply protecting the swamp you pledged to drain. Do you know what happens the minute Obamacare is repealed? People who had health insurance still have it. The people who need health insurance are free to buy it. The insurers who were pushed out of the exchanges are free to sell directly to their customers again. In short, the marketplace becomes free for sellers and buyers. No one dies as a result of a repeal of this lousy, unconstitutional law.

As a bonus, employers will no longer be faced with a 50 full-time employee threshold. Small business are the main employers of our economy. Free them to hire and make America great again.

What do you do about those with pre-existing conditions? Feel free to subsidize them. It is far, far cheaper to subsidize a portion of the marketplace than to nationalize 1/6 of the US economy.

People can't afford health insurance without help? Help them. Give them tax deductions or credits to help them afford it. It never made any sense to fine people for not being able to afford health insurance in the first place. Do something to actually help them.

Don't fall into the trap the GOPe has formed for themselves. Your election is the direct result of their failure to address the problems they promised to solve. We turned to an outsider. Remain outside the swamp and drain it around them.

How, you say? The GOPe has told you it can't be done. Look at the way Obamacare was passed to begin with... the Democrats don't seem to see roadblocks to their agenda. Here are a couple of ideas:

1. Repeal it the same way it was passed. Use reconciliation and just "deem" it done. For special sauce on this goose... don't even read it.

2. Invalidate the law under Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution. We are guaranteed a Republican Form of government. It is the antithesis of such government that those who passed Obamacare admitted they didn't even read it. Make it null and void.

3. Reach out to Ted Cruz. He's a smart guy with good ideas. As it stands, RyanCare is dead in the water because the GOP won't be able to muster 51 votes to pass the Senate without Ted's help. Don't throw your support behind a failed venture. Work with Ted to fulfill your campaign promise and the GOP's promises for the last 7 years.

I like what you've done so far in your presidency. You've been your own man and kept your promises... which is rare indeed in DC. Don't spoil your first 100 days by throwing in with the machinations of the feckless GOPe who have opposed you from the outset.

I also think President Trump is making a huge mistake betting his entire Presidency on RINOcare.
It is not repeal, it is rearranging.
The attendants of Fedzilla in Congress serve only Fedzilla and will never take power away from Fedzilla.

I view this as a power play on Ryan’s part thinking he’s pulling one over on Trump.

If they’re not careful the only thing being repealed and replaced will be the idiots voting for Ryan’s vision.

Restore the 40-hour work week!

Remove the stress of having to work several part-time jobs to make up for the lost single job.

Americans will save on stress-related medical costs, extra car fuel and maintenance costs, they can spend more time with their families instead of traveling from one job to another, and can start rebuilding occupations by staying in one place if they choose.

Trump may be making a step toward self destruction today, by admitting that he has no evidence to back up claims that Obama spied on him. It’s only because there are so many issues swirling around the new White House, that this topic has not gotten more attention yet. This may be why Trump has been unusually quiet on Twitter this week. No evidence to support his very serious claims, claims I believe could still be true.

Yes, repeal health care and repeal all of the other laws that prohibit people from doing what the constitution protects them the right to do.

Big GOP donors pay extra to keep such potential competitors suppressed. Not going to get much Republican support for that point.
