Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle grabbed brunch with Bono in the Big Apple and were greeted with cheers and applause from a crowd of onlookers.
As the Obamas and the U2 frontman exited the restaurant, People reports, the whole restaurant stood up and applauded and cheered for them. Barack Obama waved at everyone upon leaving.
Video of the Obamas exiting Upland Restaurant in Manhattan, flanked by Secret Service, flooded social media.
Obama, we love you one person is heard screaming as the crowded eatery erupts with applause.
Im dying. Im dead. PRESIDENT OBAMA is at lunch w us. We all clapped and cried, one Instagram user captions.
The bromance between President Obama and Bono dates back years.
In 2010, the Grammy-winning crooner met with Obama and his national security team to discuss the administrations development strategy heading into the upcoming G-8 and G-20 meetings in Canada and Septembers U.N. Summit on the Millenium Development Goals.
And Fridays was not the first brunch the Obamas and Bono have shared together.
In June 2013, Michelle Obama and her two daughters dined with Bono, his wife, and their two sons at Finnegans Irish Pub in Dalkey, Co Dublin.
Bono, of course, has been an outspoken opponent of President Donald Trump.
Two months before the presidential election, Bono called Trump potentially the worst idea that ever happened to America.
Just last month, Bono condemned the idea of a national border as the best way to protect ones country from Islamic terror.
I dont see a body of water wide enough or a wall high enough to keep these problems from our doors, the Irish rocker said before world leaders at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

I think the South Park episode about Bono explains why he gets along with the Obamas.

Trash is attracted to other trash.
I’ll bet there’s not many here who would care to dine with either the Bonos or the Obozos.

In the past I enjoyed U2 and saw them in concert back in the eighties. They were and still are a great band live, but turned them off my listening lists as they’ve become another iconic group loved by the left. Bono is so full of himself acting like we’re supposed to give a damn what he thinks politically.

The Obamas love tax evaders

ah yes- bono and U2- more left wing hypocrites:
The Hypocrisy Of Saint Bono: He talks the talk, but doesn't really walk the walk...
Bono has regularly called for greater transparency from foreign corporations operating throughout Africa, slamming companies such as Exxon Mobil for not paying taxes in countries where they operate, or not fully disclosing what they pay governments for contracts.
"The countries of Africa are extremely rich in resources, but why are they poor?" Bono asked during a speech at last years Clinton Global Initiative in New York City.
Just like Exxon Mobil! They too pay taxes in the Netherlandsthe very subject Bono took umbrage at during his speech at the Clinton Global Initiative last year!
Popdust spoke to Media Finance expert, Mandy Calder, who weighs in on the Bono tax hypocrisy controversy.
It's hard not to notice the credibility gap that's presented by being an international multi-millionaire who pays such a low rate of tax, whilst also being an anti-poverty campaigner," Calder says.
For twenty years U2 used a tax exemption scheme in their native country Ireland. The scheme was introduced in the 60s to help indigent artists and it significantly reduced the bands tax bills. When this exemption was curtailed in the 90s U2 moved the lucrative publishing arm of its operation to the Netherlands. As a result they now enjoy a much lower tax ratebetween just 3-5 percent.
Bono defends the decision to move the bands business side out of Ireland by explaining they were simply acting like any other business and that theres a social benefit to paying low taxes. He claims U2 is in total harmony with the Irish Governments philosophy and that tax 'competitiveness' has taken Ireland out of poverty. He blames the cranky left for not appreciating the bands position. Odd then that he would criticize governments around the world for not giving enough to help bail out the poorer nations, all while denying his own government in Ireland U2s tax dollars to help his own peopleIts worth noting Ireland was hit hard by the Global recession, and has been suffering an economic crisis since 2008, resulting in a 67.5 billion Euros bailout by the IMF."

The other thread might have been first, I didn't check close. But the "no thread here" page has a link to this thread.
As for Bono, U2, Don Henley and so on and so on, just shut up and sing. It's not as though they can't make political points with their lyrics, it's what artists have done through the ages.

Did obammy get a free complimentary illegal alien butler with his own aid, or was that a different Bono? (I can never keep up with all the people that are certain that they are really important).

Maybe Obama paid for his own lunch, thus the standing ovation. After screwing the taxpayers for 8 years, kinda nice to see.
To: drewh
Obama the fake president. Never cared to see Americans get ahead. He only cared who he hobnobbed with.
