Dogs aren't as honest and obedient as they might like to have us think.
We think we're in control but new research shows that dogs can be very deceptive - especially when it involves them getting an extra sausage.
Scientists found that dogs can be sneaky and manipulative in order to get what they want from humans.

My neighbors have a Swiss mountain dog with a wonderful disposition. She knows she’ll get in trouble if she comes over to see me, so she gets on her belly and crawls over. Damnedest thing. Made the mistake of letting her in our house and now she thinks she can come in anytime. Just like a kid!!
“Blueberries.”
Odungho is incredibly deceptive too...especially when it involves getting another sausage.
Bassetts are great, the neighbors have one. Better be cool with a talkative dog if you get one, or any breed of hound for that matter. I have a Walker, she talks too.
It’s just dawned on me!!
My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.
He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants.
His meals are provided at no cost to him.
He visits the doctor once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise.
For this he pays nothing and nothing is required of him.
He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.
If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.
He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.
He receives these accommodations absolutely free.
He is living like a King, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.
All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick!.
I think my dog is a member of Congress!
OurLab/Shar-pei mix Thor refuses to go outside without a biscuit or toy. He used to go out with one biscuit, however, he has a rascally heeler/spaniel sister, Iris, who attacks him as soon as he exists and takes the biscuit from him.
He has started refusing to exit without TWO biscuits in his mouth, relinquishing one to Iris on exiting. However, recently I noticed that his other heeler sister, Rosie has his second biscuit, so I am waiting for Thor to request three biscuits.
She loves the words "outside" or "ride".
Though she can't talk like a human, she has developed her own way of communicating, where I can understand what she wants.

My Sheltie loves these treats my wife buys for her. But she loves eating the joints off chicken wing bones better than anything. One day I was grilling wings and the Sheltie knew it by the smell. When my wife gave the Sheltie a treat she walked right up to me and set at my feet. She wouldn’t eat it she just kept looking at the treat then at me.
She was offering a trade! It was adorable!
‘We have to spell certain words around our dogs. Words like walk. But I think they have figured out what we are spelling.’
We were duped into saying ‘KLAW’, then actually spelling out K L A W, before we realized that the dog was reacting to the word “go”.. lol!
Our neighborhood Cat Obedience School, is now bankrupt!
LOL!
A dog challenges. The cat prevails.
My vets office gives treats and my old dog would just drop it. They would start digging for a different one and I had to tell them he is hoping for more. When he found out he wouldn’t get more he would pick it back up.
no surprise- dogs had to be sneaky in wild to get enough to eat- and dogs being perpetually hungry are driven by their gluttony-
so you’re sayign your dog is part squirrel?
We had four dogs at once, two of them did this.
My recently passed pup would drop her ball at my feet as if to play, then we would play fetch all the way to the bedroom where the treats were. She was stinking smart. (Sob)
