All modeled by men, of course ;)
“Empowerment” in this case means women must dress in a way that won’t get her beaten by their husbands. How progressive.
Liberals don’t like modest fashion when it’s worn by Christian families like the Bates, Duggars, etc. They are mocked. Muslims are praised by the left, and they actually cover more than the aforementioned families. It makes no sense.
Empowered women kept down by their 1/4 husbands. Right.
Now Orthodox women will be fashionable.
Interesting to leftists any hint of Christian modesty is deemed puritanical, throwback, evil.
Muslim women wearing symbols of their oppression is something to celebrate.
Liberalism is a mental disease.
High-end Hindu fashion ... saris that cost as much as my car, for example ... have been around for decades. This isn’t all that different.
They would rather embrace Satan himself than fall into the arms of the loving Christ. And that is the crux of the problem. Period.
On the bright side, once these libtard women get used to being sack wearing chattel as one of several wives or sex slaves, and getting beaten of stoned to death for minor offenses, they’ll come around to being grateful to make a sammich.
I’m sure it will evolve into women wearing mini skirts with hijabs or short short cut offs with hijabs or (god forbid) yoga pants with hijabs. So if I’m walking down the street and I see that, and I begin to beat the woman mercilessly, and a cop comes along? I would just say I’m a Muslim guy and that she was offending me? - and away I walk?
I guess these women want to look fashionable before their man beats the }^#%+ out of them.
Feminists first!
Leaving hijabs and abayas aside - I think it has gotten easier to find modest clothing. My older daughter is ten years ahead of the younger, and it was hard to find suitable church dresses for her, by which I mean falling close to the knee, covering the shoulders, and not being too tight or too low.
Now, it’s easier. If 90% of the dresses aren’t suitable, 10% are.
I went to the funeral of a 14 year old once. Most of his classmates came. The girls wore black but they looked like they were going out clubbing. Why weren’t their mothers pulling clothes out of their own closets and saying, no, this is what you need to wear for a funeral?
On Valentine’s day my youngest went to school in a scarlet dress that was one of the most outrageously feminine things I’ve ever seen - gauze over solid, floaty skirt, fitted but not tight, bow at narrow waist - and entirely modest except for the eye-catchingness of it all. She wore it with Converse sneakers. And there were other girls in the tight knit dresses that you have to keep hitching down as they ride up, and the platform stilletos that hurt your feet and your balance.
Why do we allow this to be done to our young girls? In my town, why do the oh so feminist, careerist mothers not protect and guide them?
Man, the twists and contortions the left goes through to justify global oppression of women, all in the name of gaining a new voting block...
...the hypocrisy is deafening.
