The lawsuit, filed Friday against Boeing in U.S. District Court in South Carolina, names seven malfunctions, from an electrical fire to depressurization of the plane's cabin, that could have led to the crew losing consciousness, the plane's transponder stopping its transmission and the plane flying undetected until it crashed after running out of fuel.
It came as families of the missing passengers and officials marked Wednesday's third anniversary of the Boeing 777's crash.

The U.S. lawsuit was filed by Gregory Keith, a special administrator for families who lost loved ones on the Malaysia Airlines flight. It names 44 victims as plaintiffs.
It was filed in South Carolina because Boeing has built a massive new plant in the state to build the 787 Dreamliner.
Boeing doesn't comment on pending lawsuits, but spokesman Tom Kim said in a statement the company's thoughts continue to be with the victims.

The lawsuit notes that search efforts for the plane have ended....
Boeing also didn't use available technology on its 777 planes that would have allowed them to be tracked at all times and made the flight and cockpit voice recorders easier to find, the lawsuit says.
Boeing knew of design flaws on the aircraft, including defective wiring near combustible sources like the emergency oxygen supply to the plane's crew, it says.
"The defects caused and/or allowed a massive and cascading sequence of electrical failures onboard the lost plane which disabled vital systems ... making it impossible for the crew to navigate the plane or for the plane to communicate with the ground stations leaving the aircraft to fly without the ability to communicate or control the aircraft until the plane ran out of fuel," lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.

I am not an aviation guy,
but for a plane that entered service in 1995 and was, until recently considered the safest plane in the sky, this lawsuit appears to be numskullery.
Whambulance chasing Liars know no bounds...
Most Plaintiff lawyers are willing to make any ridiculous assertion in the pursuit of a big payday.
All they need is a pusillanimous judge and a gullible jury.
The plane was carrying a pallet of lithium batteries, the kind that have been known to outgas, overheat, catch fire and explode in certain situations. They were in the forward cargo hold, very close to the main power bus and forward electronics bay where the “brains” of the aircraft were located.
But the real problem was Islam or Boeing.......
Exactly.
Burning cargo batteries brought down a US passenger plane a couple decades ago.
Sue islam.
Bears repeating.
“It came as families of the missing passengers and officials marked Wednesday’s third anniversary of the Boeing 777’s crash”
CRASH? WHERE? Were there any survivors? What do the orange “black boxes” say? How many bodies were recovered? Where did they find the plane?
I know they “SAY”/”CLAIM” to have found wreckage, could be “manufactured” evidence, I don’t buy it.
Hey, in LOST they faked a whole plane crashed on the bottom of the ocean with all passengers dead, still in their seats.
I know it wasn’t REAL, but it does go to show how the human mind works and can give real life people, “ideas”.
So did improperly packaged oxygen generators that were removed during maintenance and being shipped in the cargo hold.
Lawyers are looking for the deepest pockets.
You’re right. I stand corrected.
No doubt the plaintiffs’ attorneys plan to call Miss Cleo as a witness.
What? Miss Cleo is deceased?
All the better for the plaintiffs’ attorneys - that will make it even harder for the defendants’ attorneys to cross examine her testimony.
A US jet was also brought down by battery problems, it may have been a freighter, I don’t recall the details.
Q: "Why do you rob banks?"
A: "Because that's where the money is."
(Popularly attributed to bank robber Willie Sutton.)
I found this, you can sort through and find some of the aircraft crashes that were ‘unexplained’...hope this helps...

This is ludicrous. There is no evidence that there is a specific cause. Just an ambulance chaser looking for deep pockets.
None of which were met in this flight.
With no evidence.
Boing had better sue the lawyers filing this case for malfeasance for several billions of dollars.
What could a Black Ho do that would cause a plane to crash?
