If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husbands brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her.

Well, Henry VIII used the bible as an excuse to get rid of his first wife, and when he didn't get his divorce, he broke away from the church in Rome, and set himself up as the head of the Church of England.
