Maybe we should all make our online names indicative of ideals, principles, or something else lasting - or even silly - and not something associated with the vagaries of temporal politics...:-)
I avidly supported President Bush when he ran, as many of us did. I may be disappointed in some things he did, but at the time, I thought he was the best choice, and all-around did a good job. I’m not going to second-guess my past self; we’re all new, every day, and will be different again tomorrow.
Considering the options, he was hands-down the best choice - the trick our masters play on us is giving these choices that look like real differences, but both people capable of winning the election are globalists.
It’s good to remember who he ran against. Algore? French-looking John Kerry? And let’s not forget that, until the Democrats stabbed him in the back he did valiant job at unifying our country post-911.
My user name is from an obscure line in Star Wars. In 2005 at the Cannes Film Festival George Lucas bashed Bush comparing him to the Emperor. I felt betrayed but since the user name was obscure enough I never felt the need to change it. If I was joining today I would follow your advice in creating one.
