Anytime some jackwagon spouts this the response should be, "it's not the immigration system that's broken, it's our LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM that's broken."
Hell no.
Reagan made a deal with Democrats in 1986 in exchange for wall along the border.
3 million illegals were granted amnesty.
So there will be NO MORE AMNESTY!
We were promised a wall and by God we will have it!
My plan is the same, just more wordy:
1. A road along the entire border, navigable by Jeep or similar vehicle, with triple strand concertina wire barriers 100-200 yards on each side monitored frequently for vandalism. That can be done very quickly and will immediately slow the crossings of illegals. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
2. At least one additional barrier on our side beyond those double barbed wire obstacles, whether a fence, a wall, or something else physical to prevent unauthorized passage. Plus a barrier on the Mexican side built by Mexico to avoid penalties/retaliation. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
3. Pregnant illegals who are not immediately deported should be held outside the United States so their anchor babies will not be US citizens.
4. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally or of overstaying after legal entry and then committed any other crime while in our country should be deported. No exceptions. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. Any state or local government with a sanctuary policy should be barred from receiving federal funds; and illegals who access social services, including schools, should be provided those services as ordered by the courts but also required to be reported to ICE.
5. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally in the past two years, and thus have not been here long enough to have stronger ties here than at home, should be deported. In other words, no new growth in our illegal population. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. No exceptions.
6. Once those are taken care of, we should deport the remaining illegals (or better, encourage them to go home on their own). Allow those who go home on their own to apply for legal reentry and legal status. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship - again, no exceptions. For those who go home on their own, we should take into account in their visa applications any past history of productive work in the United States, English proficiency if they learned our language while here, and any record of living here without using welfare and other social services. This may be a small positive for reentry, but that’s enough of a carrot, combined with the stick of permanent ban on entry if they are deported that many may self-deport.
7. The only way for illegals to gain legal status should be to apply from their home countries for legal entry after voluntarily going home. Note: We also need to fix legal immigration so that the number of immigrants approved by Congress and by the President can obtain visas in a reasonable time to come here, and they can do it from the countries we wish to receive immigrants from, after thorough background checks.
Rewarding criminals for their illegal behavior? No! President Reagan, in one of his few errors, fell for that trick. Never again.
LOL. This is called amnesty. Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here, the object of their crimes, is amnesty. The illegals go to the head of the line.
At any one time, there are 4 million intending immigrants overseas waiting their turn to enter the country, many for years. They have completed all the paperwork, background investigations, physicals, etc. Why should the lawbreakers be allowed to stay? Where is the fairness in this? What happens to the Rule of Law, the very foundation of the Republic?
Forget the vote. Why should they be allowed to stay here?
HNO!!
The only way to do it is like Ike did it in the 50s Operation Wet Back!
Exactly. This is rewarding them for breaking the law.
We cannot do that.
Bad idea.. We want all the illegals gone... E verify status can pass e-verify your an illegal and out you go. Cut off all welfare, Schools, medical, make it a felony to harbor help an illegal and I guarantee they will leave on their own account.. Won’t have to deport any except the criminals.. Where is Devils island when you need it?
Bad idea.
Indentured servitude is basically what you’re proposing.
We’re being humane both to them and to our own people. We’re not threatening their lives or talking about locking them up and throwing away the key.
Is it me or are the “classes” even backwards?
A. Visitors have passports and proper visas, could be issued visitors ID card, red color.
B. Temporary workers issued temporary worker ID card, orange color, showing expiration date.
C. Temporary students issued temporary student ID card, yellow color, showing expiration date.
D. Permanent residents (Resident Aliens) issued or having green cards ID card, green color, allowing life time residency. No US passport or voting rights.
F. US citizens issued citizens ID card, blue color and US passports if requested, eligible to vote in US elections.
>Government should set up immigration offices in states, staffed with capable people, set up proper procedures and handle applications efficiently.
Paid for by the “visitors” out of their pay checks. Not by citizen taxes.
One flaw. Illegal aliens file for tax payer ID numbers. Then they get child money. They declare a certain number of children living in their home in Mexico, that they are supporting. It can include, nieces and nephews.
Billions of dollars each year.
Why is this not reported?!!
This should explain your observation...”Yuri Blanarovich was born in Ukraine, grew up in Czechoslovakia, lived in France, Canada and now in nj.”
“1. Existing Illegals in US problem can be solved by establishing procedure for Illegals to come out of shadow and register, give those about 1 or 2 years to do so. That would give them working permit visas, say for 3 years and chance to apply for resident status. “
No. Get out!
Another idea which isn’t new: NO government benefits of any kind for anyone here who is not a legal US citizen.
No food stamps
No free cash (TANF, et al)
No subsidized child care
No heating assistance
No disability (those criminal aliens who are on disability lose it immediately)
No student loans
etc
A Federal Photo ID Card will do the trick nicely. Tie to everything in life, from school enrollment/applicaitons, banking, phone/auto purchases, utilities, job applications, welfare benefits, travel on rail, air or bus. Everything that requires a SSN or confers a benefit would require the Federal ID Card - it would also have finger print verification, and have a recovery password. You would have to use your fingerprint to validate it for use - every form of database in the US could be compartented for privacy but this alone would sent ‘em home!
Step 1 needs to involve congress drafting legislation ending birthright citizenship for those born to non-citizen parents. No more anchor babies!!!
Why would anyone want to pass along another BAD IDEA to the Trump Team ?
The only way to ever stop illegal immigration is to first stop rewarding it. That means they can retain ZERO BENEFIT from their illegal acts. They ALL need to be rounded up, stripped of all possessions and dumped in the farthest corner of their home country. If they have kids born here, they can stay or go with their parents.
