I’d surmise that meat from dairy type cows, especially if old and being retired from the dairy “industry,” mostly end up in ground meat, i.e., hamburger of low grade, and processed meats such as bologna, stuffed into casings for slicing and making sandwiches.

OMG. Two heifers from Massachusetts and Connecticut escaped from their cells. Their names are Elizabeth Warren (aka Fauchohantas) and Laura DeRosa (aka The Evil Witch of Oz).
Do not approach!. Do not touch! THEY BITE (the big one).
Nice to see these small town cops have a sense of humor. It's rare. Kudos to them.
Holstein cows. Good old-fashioned cows; popular in New England for their good, reliable milk production.

Aight, you fresh beefs onna hoof, ya’ll come on in. Come & set fer dinner, will ya?
But the JWs still gonna take a potshot fer botherin decent folk. Not even worth the trouble of dressin out, just runnem off.
No wonder the milkmaid had so much trouble filling the bucket up....
Ingenious. Door to door meat salesmen cutting out the middle man.
True - but even dairy cows (those are Holsteins in the commercials) EVENTUALLY become hamburger, too!
Just like the REST of Society - they put us OLD GIRLS, ‘out to pasture’ when we’re no longer useful! ;)
Well, yes, they are sold when they can’t be breed and produce milk...The male calves are also sold for beef...Only a few bulls are kept for sperm production and most of the breeding is artificial insemination...
My deceased father in law was a breeder and a diary farmer...
My family worked strictly with beef....
We’ve raised a few beef steer through the years. Looking forward to doing it again. Nothing better!
Yup. Average retirement age for dairy cow is 5 years. And then there are the bulls which by pass any milking requirements and go to beef directly when ready.
