I used to know a man who took his Parrot around with him in the car. Parrot sat on his shoulder and loved getting French fries at the fast-food place ;-)

A few months ago, there was a mug shot of a guy with his bright red parrot perched on his shoulder. The owner looked suitably pissed, as a proper Pirate should be looking while wearing his parrot.

This guy was due in court that day to pay some fines. Before he went in the courthouse, he let his bird, named “Bird” fly in a nearby tree and wait for him. This fellow had some overdue fees and not enough money, so he had to spend a little time in jail. He panicked and told the bailiff that his bird was outside waiting.

The bailiff and others went to the tree and called the bird, but it would not move out of the tree. Other birds were beginning to peck at and harrass the parrot. They knew it did not belong there. The bailiff went back, got the owner, bought him outside, though in handcuffs. The moment the bird saw his owner, he immediately flew out of the tree and perched on his owner’s shoulder. They put the bird in an animal shelter to wait for his owner to be released in a few days.
