Nearly 24 years after the Branch Davidian standoff began near Waco, some federal agents are opening up about their experiences that resulted in the worst day in the history of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and ultimately the deaths of some 70 people inside the compound more than seven weeks later.
"I've decided I'm never going to forget, and I owe it to the guys who were killed to tell their story," ATF Agent Gary Orchowski told the Houston Chronicle in a story published Sunday.
Four agents were killed Feb. 28, 1993, when more than 130 ATF special agents and support staff from Houston, Dallas and New Orleans showed up to execute search warrants for illegal stockpiles of automatic weapons and explosives at the compound.

The initial raid by F-troop was totally unnecessary, but was seen as a funding promotional effort.
The feds could have easily conducted an FFL records check without the assault by knocking on the door.
The front door to the complex had ballistic evidence of who was shooting through the door. Koresh claimed it was the feds. He was struck by one round. His daughter was shot and killed.
These ATF agents should has been prosecuted for murder.
Reno’s press conference after the slaughter at Waco, said that she ordered it because the agent had been on duty for 30 days, were getting tired and then had to stop it. Reno order the slaughter because the agents were tired. Burn in hell.
And if my memory is correct, that door disappeared and was never found. So there is no proof to contradict the ATF statements that they were fired on first through the door. Yep, my government always ready to cover up mistakes.
There's a pic of Reno hanging out with Michele Obama?
lmao... !!
this article is trash.
There is blood on their hands, and they know it. They attacked with fully automatic guns and battle dress (helmets, bulletproof gear). With Tanks and “tear” gas. With incendiary flash bangs they knew would set off a big fire. And they watched those children burn.
I remember the children burned to death -

Is this referring to the former Clinton body-guards who appeared to have been killed by ‘friendly fire’?
we are supposed to say “I hope Lon gets saved, but if Lon Doesn’t Get saved, I hope God avenges Lon’s victims by increasing Lon’s punishment in the after life”
Robert LaVoy Finicum and the roundup at the Bundy Ranch.
This was a terrible event in our country’s history.
I can go with that.
Strange, I recall the Branch Davidian massacre by federal agents. I wonder if they still high 5 each other over the number of children they killed.
“We were more or less looking at it like a humanitarian mission,” Orchowski, 55, now the assistant special agent in charge of the ATF’s Houston field office, said. “A bunch of us had gone to Walmart. ... In our vests, there were candy bars we planned on giving to the kids.”
It is so sad they were this stupid, those kids would have shot them too...they should not have kicked that bee hive, the deaths were utterly predictable.
Janet Reno, supposedly.
The following Department of Justice actions occurred during Reno’s tenure:
The 51-day Waco siege standoff and resulting 76 deathsthe Branch Davidiansin Waco, Texas. (The standoff began on February 28, 1993, twelve days before Reno was installed as Attorney-General.) Reno in congressional testimony stated that she authorized the FBI assault on the Branch Davidians because of reports that militia groups were en route to Waco during the standoff “either to help [Branch Davidian leader David] Koresh or to attack him.”[16] Reno publicly expressed her regret of the decision to storm the compound, and accepted full responsibility for the loss of life.[17]

I lost all respect for ALL federal agents that day. This DOP, FBI, ATF, military specops, et al.

Yup, the government learned a lesson in 1992 that they shouldn't leave front doors lying around.
