No NCAA Bracket for Trump

The network reached out to Trump’s staff and invited the president to fill out a bracket on-camera, just as President Barack Obama had the past several years. The network recently received word that Trump has passed. An ESPN spokesman said in a statement: “We expressed our interest to the White House in continuing the presidential bracket. They have respectfully declined.”

White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email to The Washington Post: “We look forward to working with ESPN on another opportunity in the near future.” Neither the White House nor ESPN had any details on what other opportunities might lie down the road.

The news didn’t exactly come as a surprise to ESPN executives. They knew with a change of president, the annual feature might not continue. Obama hosted an ESPN crew each March and filled out brackets for both the men’s and women’s tournaments. Two of those brackets are now property of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

Illinois state is now out on all sites discussed except teamrankings.

CBS NBC FOX all agree on the 68 teams.
ESPN agrees on 67, all except USC they have out in favor of SYR

using the mason Dixon line (Ohio River) and the Miss River,
divide the country into 3 sections. Analyze the 68 teams.

West of MISS
21 Teams, average seed is 8.4
7 teams seeded 5 or better

South
26 Teams, average seed of 9.2
8 teams seeded 5 or better

North
21 Teams, average seed of 8.7
5 teams seeded 5 or better
only 1 of the top 12 teams (seeded 3 or better)

The North is not blatantly weaker at first glance, but I suspect they won’t look good a week from now.

New York almost got shut out. The loss by Monmouth put Iona in.
And ILL has only ONE team.
New England has 3 relatively weak teams ... but go Rhode Island.

I count 7 teams in OH-INDY and 5 teams from NC. No big surprise there. The West expected to be stronger this year than in a long long time.

USC in, Sry out, so ESPN was wrong.

Northwestern an 8! Last team for a power conference to finally make it.

Illinois State a 1 seed in the NIT. :/ Illinois a 2 seed. Southern Il won the NIT in 1967.

Explain the play-in games to me, why aren’t they all for 16 seeds? 2 are for 11 seeds.

I didn’t hire him to talk or watch sports. I hired him to Make America Great Again.

That's why Trump is driving the Establishment (both in the media and Washington, DC) crazy--Trump is a doer that really does want to "Make America Great Again."

the last 4 at large bids tend to be 11 seeds becuz they are better than the automatic bids from the 2nd tier conferences.

since there was always dispute about who should be the final 2 at large teams, they made play in games to settle the last 2 spots.

I used to pay close attention to his brackets. Whoever he picked to win, I didn’t and got better results.

Where he liked to pick #1 seeds for the Final Four. Such a student of the game.

https://www.teamrankings.com/ncb/odds/

point spreads are up
Vegas thinks
Creighton does not deserve a 6 seed (giving Oregon an easier route)
Minnesota does not deserve a FIVE (giving Butler an easier road)
Wisconsin should be seeded better (giving NOVA a tougher road)
Wichita St should be seeded better (giving KY a tougher road)

I am against the ACC

in March Madness, it is often not whom you are for, but whom you are against.

Wake Forest defeated.
Go Providence

where is the bracketology thread?
