A young doctor has recalled the horrifying moment she almost bled to death after a Tinder stalker stabbed her 11 times and doused her in gas.
Dr. Angela Jay sobbed in relief after being told that Paul Lambert, 36, was shot dead by police after leading officers on a 100-mile chase on the east coast of Australia.
Lambert broke into Jays home as part of a sick plot to rape and murder her after she ended their two-month relationship, police believe.
He caught me again and started pouring [gas] over me, there was terror now and that gave me extra strength to run.
She recalled how she slipped on the gas while trying to escape.
Jay, who was born in the United States, eventually managed to flee to a neighbors house for help in Port Macquarie, a coastal town on Australias eastern coast.
Jay and Lambert met on the dating app Tinder, but the affair soured after eight weeks when Jay told Lambert that she didnt want to see him anymore.
He did not take the news well.

Good thing they banned guns in Australia.
Dead Eyes.
Here it is only February and we have a winner in the Understatement of the Year award:
He did not take the news well.
Ya’ think????
She appears to have very low standards (per the pictures) and likely low morality, as well, if she meet her ‘dates’ on a hook up site. She looks cute enough to attract decent guys.
He looks like a criminal. What was she thinking?
These dating apps are nothing but trouble. I'm old-school!
I couldn’t figure out what a “tinder stalker” was. But in another article about this I found this comment toward the end of the article:
“They had met through the dating app Tinder.”
Oh. OK. I don’t seem to have that app, thankfully.
Bar?
Hmmph.
I met my wife in a hotel!
(Disclosure: it was during a ball)
I know a few folks that have met their spouses on dating sites.
Really, I don’t know how folks can do it, considering all the things that can go wrong.
Man this article jumps around a bit. NY Post article about an ex-pat American living in Australia who dated a man for two month although she met him on tinder (which has the reputation of being an app for one night stands).
He was a stalker and a psycho but calling it a Tinder date gone wrong is sensationalism.
Don’t call it dating. It’s a way of hooking up for sex.
Anybody who believes anything posted on a “dating app” is an idiot.

Brings to mind this satirical article I read last week:

5 Tinder Couples Who Look Like a Cute Girl and the Guy Who Kidnapped Her
TROP?
Like someone on FR once said, (something to the effect of) *Where ever you see a beautiful girl who’s single, somewhere there’s a guy who was tired of her $h!+.*
If she’s pretty, and smart enough to become a doctor, and she has to look on dating sites to find a guy interested in dating her, something is seriously wrong.
Cute enough girl, but quite squirrelly.
What with the way men seem to think they deserve good looking women and chase after them (no matter what the guy looks like, and some of the guys who think they deserve hot chicks and the hotties should fall over them are CERTAINLY nothing to look at), any good looking girl who’s still single is someone to be very careful around.
So maybe you could provide some perspective.
What makes men think that they’re so special that hot women should fall all over them and they can afford to be picky when so many of the the men are downright homely, (to be kind)?
Women dig a big thick wallet. Adds 2 or 3 points to a guys score on the the 0 to 10 scale?
The 80’s was a glorious time for bar pick ups.
But, then:
People figured out that the only girls they can meet at bars are girls who let men pick them up in bars.
OK.
I can see that.
Problem is, some of these men are such losers.
They do not have the big thick wallets.
Just a big ego, I guess.
I guess like the guy in the article, that seems to think that he owned the girl and she didn’t have any say in the relationship.
Dating isn’t marriage, but even a failed marriage isn’t excuse enough to try to murder someone by stabbing them 11 times and burn them alive.
And her comment is weird. It was after he poured the gas on her that *there was terror now*?
REALLY?
Like getting stabbed 11 times wasn’t enough?
