Although AAPL has broken its record for daily and closing highs, it has not broken its Market Cap high because of its buy back program and there are fewer outstanding shares to multiply these stock prices to get the total value of the company's Market Capitalization. Market Cap is current stock selling price times the number of shares that could be sold at that price assuming that all could be sold for that current market price. Apple's valuation using that metric is $708.34 Billion.
In 2015, Apple's Market Cap was almost $770 Billion with a slightly lower stock price but with more common stock in the hands of investors.

Apple's (the most valuable publicly traded private company in the world) stock, AAPL, hit an all time record closing high of $135.02 (or is it $135.01?) and also an all time record interday high of $135.08 today. . . bring Apple's Market Cap to $708.34 Billion! That's not a record because there are fewer shares outstanding due to Apple's buyback program of the last two years. (note these records are including adjusted prices for the 7 for 1 split of a few years ago.) PING!

Strange to see a couple Chinese companies sneak onto the bottom of that list...
It's also pretty wild that other than BRK-A, the top six spots are all technology companies - with neither IBM or Intel anywhere to be seen.
Exxon and GE were both top market cap at one time.
