Second eaglet pecks its way out; two hatchlings now in the eagles nest at Berry College.
From Berry College Eagles Facebook page: B9 is finally here! The little eaglet hatched sometime in the wee hours of the morning and is currently snuggled close together with B8! Great screencap by Deanna George.
Earlier photo: Thats eaglet B8 next to the now pipped shell of its sibling as B9 is taking steps to exit its shell. From Berry County Eagles Facebook page: This great screencap taken by Rebecca Ahmad shows off our little B8 and the confirmed pip in egg #2!

I wonder just how soon it will be able to fly into a “wind farm” windmill and get shredded into bloody bits? Oh, yeah...who cares?
LOL! Great mimes think alike. I was gonna ask if there were any avian cuisinarts in the vicinity.
The good news is there are no wind farms here in NWGA...just the occasional windmill that pumps water for the local farmers. The Berry College grounds are vast as are the potential safe nesting/residential areas "off campus" for all these annual offspring.
Two springs ago I was following a hummingbird web cam in California. The chicks were only about half grown when the adult just disappeared and never returned.
I think the owners of the webcam took them in and tried to raise them. I don't know how it turned out.........
Momma is feeding her babies now.
Here, in the Great White (brown) North, we’re a few weeks behind.
Our nesting pair is sitting on three again this year. All three survived and fledged last year. First time ever.
Anyway, courtesy on the Minnesota DNR...

Nice!
We have had such a warm winter and an early Spring, my backyard is swarming with activity.
The whole cycle is fascinating but now is the time when the buffet appears at the nest...squirrels, coots, fish, all manner of carrion...
