Major U.S. retailers Sears and Kmart this week removed 31 Trump Home items from their online product offerings to focus on more profitable items, a spokesman said on Saturday.
The decision follows retailer Nordstrom Inc's announcement this week it had decided to stop carrying Ivanka Trump's apparel because of declining sales, prompting President Donald Trump to take to Twitter to defend his daughter. White House spokesman Sean Spicer characterized the Nordstrom move as a "direct attack" on the president's policies.
Neither Sears nor Kmart carried the Trump Home products in their retail stores, a Sears Holdings Corp spokesman said. Kmart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings.
"As part of the companys initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items," spokesman Brian Hanover said in a statement.
"Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week," he said, adding those items can be found through a third-party vendor, without providing additional information about the products.
The Trump Home collection includes lines of furniture, lighting, bedding, mirrors and chandeliers, some from makers who supply the items to Trump hotels, according to the collection's website.
Nordstrom's sales of Ivanka Trump's line of clothing and shoes fell by nearly one-third in the past fiscal year, with sharp drops in sales weeks before her father was elected president on Nov. 8, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.

Oh, that’s right - KMart was bought by another entity when it was going under the first time and then it bought Sears not long after that.
No kidding!
If I were in charge, I would be contacting Ivanka’s team and asking her to develop a line for middle-income Americans...Do a promotional campaign, perhaps with her young child (baby clothes, anyone??)
Most women would love affordable Ivanka-brand clothes for themselves.
As for baby clothes... Something nice for a first birthday...?
I am not in design or marketing...But these companies are cutting off their nose to spite their face.
Excellent idea!!! Brick and mortar stores are dying, anyway.
Sear/KMart really needs to do this too with them closing stores and all
The last thing I bought from Sears was my dishwasher. We no longer have it because the control panel caught fire one night ( thank God for our NEST smoke alarm). We were supposed to be compensated due to a recall, but haven’t heard anything in almost a year.
DeWalt/Porter cable now owns Black and decker
LOL! True enough.
Well thats a heck of a step. I thought Stanley owned B&D.
“Major U.S. retailers....yack-yack-yack.” No they’re not. Not any more. They’ve politicized themselves right into the junk bin; just like Penney’s, et al. Target’s also trying hard to P.O. all the real Americans and alienate them. Brain cramps!
Management is lying. The products were dropped due to pressure from American nazis. Plain and simple. They are liars.
The slide of K-Mart didn't start with Amazon or even Walmart, it started when they made a big deal about how they wouldn't carry guns anymore. They tried to keep the rest of the hunting gear you need but no one bought it.
Believe it or not, guns, ammo, and hunting gear were a big seasonal bump to their sales, one they killed with their announcement. People who resented not being able to buy what they needed when hunting season started stopped buying their other items at K-mart as well, so, no more auto stuff, no more home items, no more toys from them at Christmas and they slid right down the tubes.
Sears? Sears is just sad. They didn't emphasize what they should have which is Made in America quality this, that, and the other so why bother with them either when it's all the same Chinese stuff Walmart carries just with a different name on the box?
JMHo & experience talking to friends.
So, does Sears normally post a list of items that are dropped?
I didn’t think so.
If the items are not selling well, just remove them. Period.
Nothing but trying to curry favor with the 100 people who still shop at Sears/KMart - and it won’t work.
Sears Kmart are too dumb to stay in business
I’m surprised Trump would allow anything with his name to be sold in such embarrassing stores. They did him a favor dropping his stuff.
All these political hos, striving for political cred by dropping Ivanka’s stuff. There’s a family of Bon-Ton stores, plus other brands in PA & NY owned by the Grumbachers. They’ve said they’re staying with Ivanka. They deserve our business.
They have both been pathetic for years, this seals it. We have a mall anchored by Sears and Macy’s..Macy’s is already shuttering, bet Sears is gone by August.
Great ideas.
The Ivanka product line and name has cachet and class that would likely not be available to Sears and K-mart under normal circumstances.
But with higher end retailers cutting her out for political reasons there is no doubt a rare window of opportunity opening up for other retailers to move in and acquire the line.
You can bet that some other corporate manager will be smart enough to jump in.
Gives us a clue why Sears and K-Mart have failed.
I just pulled a broken dishwasher from under my counter, taking a Brea to check FR, the was gonna head to SmEARS and pick out a new one. Now I’m reconsidering!
