And I usually realize this after I have said them.

Of all the briskets I’ve cooked over the years, the couple I’ve done in the rain came out with the most beautiful smoke ring.
My thoughts are that the rain hits the pit, cooling the outside, and causing the smoke to stay inside the pit longer due to the temperature variations from inside and outside, thus, causing more smoke. This permeates the meat, and makes it even bigger/more beautiful.
At least, that’s my theory.
The mountain passes are still closed from too much snow here. We still have 10” on the ground although the streets are cleared. Melting now and a big mess.
I bought an umbrella one day because my old one was broken and I knew rain was coming. Soon.
Before I got out of the store the rain had already started so I opened my new umbrella so I could run to the Jeep and not get too wet...and the wind immediately turned it inside out...

It was about that in Montana today, Wednesday morning it was around 10 below zero.
Yukky. Sort of the same in WY. The piled up snow on the sides of the streets is icky-dirty!
