I asked a guy I know has eaten possum what it tastes like. (I was expecting the standard "tastes like chicken")
He said "It's about the same as owl."
Now that the South has been invaded by an increase in armadillos, they have been re-labeled "Possum on the half-shell"
Standard rule in the Gulf South is If you can't eat it...it's bait.
Big problem for Florida vacationers from up north is while fishing with your "Pocket Fisherman" from Walmart, you hook a Goliath Grouper (before political correctness set in, it was called a "Jewfish") You don;t necessarily catch one....he catches you!

Numerous people have reported finding possums in their toilets...
These guys can crawl up the pipes the same way a rat or squirrel can, making rodents the most likely animals to wind up in your toilets.

A Possum is a *Marsupial*, not a rodent. It has a pouch for its young like a Kangaroo.
Sometimes the snake eats a possum, sometimes the possum eats a snake.I’ve read that possums hunt snakes and are immune to snake venom. That wont help though against a huge strangler like a python!
