Whats a Super Bowl without controversy?
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are in Houston for their record-setting ninth appearance in Sundays NFL championship game, but the biggest questions the future Hall-of-Famer faces this week have nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons secondary, his receiving corps or coach Bill Belichicks game plan.
Instead, footballs best player has become the focus of a political debate between those, including many in the sports world, who insist the quarterback must explain or even disavow his friendship with President Trump, and others who contend Brady is as entitled to a political viewpoint as Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco quarterback who spent the season protesting police brutality by taking a knee during the national anthem.
Can we pls stop politicizing everything? (We came to the sports pgs to escape a politics-centric view of everything), Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse tweeted Tuesday while linking to a USA Today sports column headlined. Tom Brady has some explaining to do on Donald Trump.
In the column, USA Todays Nancy Armour writes that the 39-year-old Brady has forfeited the right to deflect questions about his relationship with the new president, especially in light of the presidents executive action Friday tightening travel restrictons from seven majority-Muslim countries to the United States.
Tom Brady no longer gets a pass on his friendship with Donald Trump. Not after this weekend, when the country boiled over in rage and indignation at Trumps decision to turn Americas back on refugees, she wrote.

Since I don’t care much for either of the teams in the Super Bowl I was not planning to watch. But now that it is a match between good and evil I may do so.
I just wanna see what happens when Lady Gaga jumps off the Astrodome.
I am not a Brady fan at all, and NE is my least favorite team. With that said, GO PATS...screw the haters. Not going to watch though, I am pretty much done with this leftist league.
It did? The whole country? Funny, I didn't see any such boiling over.
I must have missed that boiling.
Not after this weekend, when the country boiled over in rage and indignation at Trumps decision to turn Americas back on refugees,
Funny, everyone in my neighborhood and street has been celebrating ever since??
I hope that this Super Bowl is very very boring! I hope that the Patriots just decimate the Falcons.
That’s why this was manufactured. To get ratings! Don’t doubt me!
Brady isn't going to be rattled or dragged into their pit. He's much too sharp and experienced for that.
I will not be watching for several reasons including kapernick’s treason but I will pray that Tom Brady WINS!!
No boiling over noted in north Texas.!!!!
The hatred for Trump is now being applied to anyone who favors Trump.
A lot of sports reporters are liberals. Most don’t advertise it because they know it wouldn’t go over well with football fans.
The country? The whole country? Right. 1% maybe. If that. Cue Captain Hyperbole.
At approximately 9:30 pm EST on November 8 I witnessed a needle swing to 95% probability Trump would win. The truly remarkable thing was the prognosis was provided by the NY Slimes. Anything can happen including a Brady publicity comeback.
P.S. I have been VERY impressed with Ryan so far in the playoffs.
The Astrodome is an Antiques Landmark now.
Support Tom Brady!
I’m a Cowboys fan so no rooting interest in the Super Bowl for me, but now that the rats have made Brady a target then I’ll root for the Pats and I’ll look at Atlanta as the media and the Dems. I hope the Pats win and Tom Brady wins an MVP, and makes a postgame speech where he mockingly thanks Roger Goodell and gives a shout-out to President Trump. That’ll drive the Patriot and Trump haters even more loony.
Best decision he’s made yet.
