Still, “Mr. Bean” as the next Dr. Who would be decent.
What’s interesting to me is how over the top girly the Master’s Missy is and how that mirrors the short’s earlier portrayal of the Doctor as a girly woman.
I think part of the idea might be that, aside from comedic value, it may be believed that some guys think women are secretly girly-ier than they act so if such a fellow were suddenly actually transformed, as opposed to medical mutilation, they would then gravitate towards extravagent female behavior.
So Missy, it may someday be revealed, has turned the Master’s secret lair into a collision of Victorian and plushie nightmare.
In fact, when they decide to unMissy the Master it might be a good idea for the Doctor and he to run into each other:
Doctor: You speak as if we know each other?
Master: Of course! Perfect! We fight against each other across all time and space, to the very end of the universe and he doesn’t recognize me ... again. (takes a swig from a bottle)
Doctor: Ah, I see ... what are you up to these days? And should you be drinking that much?
Master: Black and pink lace. Dolls everywhere.
Doctor: I beg your pardon?
Master: You asked be what I was up to. I’m up to trying to forget being Missy.
Doctor: Is it working?
Master: No. But no harm in the try. ... That new companion of yours, the goth girl ... does she need anything for her room in the TARDIS?
Doctor: Was it really that bad?
Master (laughs): Not at all. I enjoyed every last moment and the schemes were first rate first to last! But on returning to ... my old self ... I learned something unpleasant about myself. All the things I’ve been, I never imagined I had such a low opinion of what Time Ladies really were like beneath the facade ... why, I practically think they’re HUMAN! ... No, that’s not true, more like Gresaltan.
Doctor: So you think you owe them an apology?
Master: I don’t do apologies!
Doctor: Ergo you’re drinking and clearing out your place.
Master: Affirmative!
Doctor: And you do not have anything to do with what is happening here...
Master: Happening?
