A FORMER KGB spy chief suspected of helping Brit spook Christopher Steele compile the Trump ‘dirty dossier’ has been found dead in mysterious circumstances.
Oleg Erovinkin, described as a key source behind the widely discredited document, was found dead in the back of his car in Moscow on Boxing Day. Media reports in Russia suggest his death was the result of foul play, reports the Telegraph.
A former general in the intelligence agency the KBG and its successor the FSB, Erovinkin was reportedly a key aide to former deputy prime minister Igor Sechin.
Erovinkin acted as a ‘go-between’ for Russian Presdident Vladimir Putin and Sechin who is now head of the state-owned oil company Rosneft, it has been reported. . .
While no cause of death has been confirmed, some reports have claimed he died as a result of a heart attack. . .

A top executive from Russia's state-controlled oil company, Rosneft, has been found dead in central Moscow, according to the Life.ru news site.
Oleg Erovinkin, Rosneft President Igor Sechin's chief of staff, was discovered in the back seat of a company Lexus by his driver, who alerted the emergency services.
According to Life.ru, the cause of death has not yet been determined. Officials from the Federal Security Service (FSB) have opened an investigation.
Later, Rosneft Press Secretary Mikhail Leontiev confirmed Erovinkin's death, saying that the 61-year-old had problems with his heart.
Oleg Erovinkin was appointed chief of staff for Rosneft by Vladimir Putin in May 2008. At the time, Sechin was serving as deputy prime minister."
You’re giving then way too much credit. They intentionally say boxing day and not Dec 26, because they want the reader to assume his death just happened.
Many people read headlines only, and a lot of others read articles, make assumptions and never investigate things like this, leaving them to assume things. This is intentional lying through omission, it’s WHAT the MSMS does.

Former Russian FSB agent, Rosneft official found dead in Moscow
A large-scale investigation has been commenced in the area. Erovinkin's body was sent to the FSB morgue.
Between 1974 and 1976, Erovinkin served in the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union.
From 1976 to 1994, he worked in the state's security bodies. Between 1994 and 1996, he served as the Deputy Head of Control over the protection of state secrets of the Personnel Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
In 1997-1998, he served as the head of the private office of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
Between the years of 2004 and 2008, he worked as the Deputy Head of the Information and Document Support of the Russian president.
On May 22, 2008 Erovinkin was appointed as the Head of the Secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, serving until May 2012.
Erovinkin's death came at a turbulent time when NATO-Russia relations have become strained.
Russia's Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was assassinated in Ankara on Dec. 19. Another Russian diplomat, Petr Polshikov, was also found dead in his apartment in Moscow the same day. Yves Chandelon, the chief auditor of NATO relating to terrorism financing and money laundering, was also found dead in his car on Dec. 16 in an incident that has also raised suspicions.
It’s actually a holiday in Britain, Canada, Russia, and possibly other places. Regardless, this story lied through omission.

It had to be murder since Russians who commit suicide only do it in the front seat (where it is easier to shot oneself through the window).
The dateline on your link is Dec 26, 2016.
Sheesh. What's the confusion? The article is British. It refers to "Boxing Day". Brits (and anyone else who cares to find out) know that Boxing Day is the day after Christmas!
So we’ve got an oil company executive with a background in Russian intelligence believed to be a source for an MI6 agent whose dossier ended up in a CIA file—always helpful to have such a short list of suspects. . .
Or maybe Russian Boxing Day is 30 February. Whatever.
When some people say they don’t like back-seat drivers, I guess they mean it. . .
Doh! Still getting used to the New Year. . .
The confusion (now cleared up) was from 1. many papers reporting this as if it just happened and 2. the fact Christmas in Russia falls on a different day than the U.K.
There is no ‘boxing day’ in Russia.
The article is by a British newspaper & author, and Boxing Day is a holiday in Britain and some Commonwealth countries, so he wrote Boxing Day instead of Dec 26.
