Bob Grant was not “Conservative” by today's definition. Religion as such was not the focus of Republicans or Democrats. I remember him more as a loudmouth, wiseguy New Yorker and patriotic American. He spoke eloquently the language of cab drivers and headline writers, an Everyman.

Bob Grant was not Conservative by today's definition. Religion as such was not the focus of Republicans or Democrats. Even today, I believe that patriotism and a belief in the soundness of our cherished founding principles, is what guides and defines most conservatives, though I don't deny that religion is personally important to most.
