Social media erupted after Avengers director Joss Whedon attacked President Donald Trumps son-in-law Jared Kushner and compared his wife, Ivanka Trump, to a dog. Hey, keep your eyes on this fu*king prize too. Hes a Voldemort in training, Whedon wrote on Twitter Tuesday, sharing a photo of Jared Kushner standing next to Trump in the Oval Office.
Unlike the Pekingese he married under, can play the long game, Whedon wrote, comparing Ivanka to the dog breed.
Social media users didnt hesitate to call the director out for his attacks on President Trumps children.
Some users pointed out what they called Whedons hypocrisy in attacking Ivanka Trump; the director is a self-described feminist.
Shortly after Trumps victory in November, Whedon said Trump cannot cannot be allowed a term in office.
Its not about 2018. Its about RIGHT NOW, he wrote.
The writer-producer has also used social media to attack other members of the Republican party.
Earlier this month, Whedon wrote on Twitter that he hoped House Speak Paul Ryan would be killed in a gruesome way.
Violence solves nothing. I want a rhino to fuck @SpeakerRyan to death with its horn because its FUNNY, not because hes a #GOPmurderbro, he wrote.
Whedon also posted a meme mocking Nicole Kidman as being a puppet for Trump after the actress said Americans need to rally around Trump.
During the campaign, the director launched the Save the Day PAC, which supported Hillary Clintons failed presidential bid. In September, he gathered together cast members of his Avengers films, including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle, for an anti-Trump star-studded political PSA.

“Are the 3 bags to put over her head, or to contain all of the vomit after looking at her ugly mug?”
One over her head, one over your head in case hers falls off, and one over your friend’s head so they don’t see you with her.
Someone needs to be wearing their butt for a hat.
Shortly after Trumps victory in November, Whedon said Trump cannot cannot be allowed a term in office.
Sounds like a threat to me. You can bet if someone had said that in regards to Obama they would have been arrested!
I am sorry to read this about him, he has talent, what a waste of it to make unfunny remarks against people who you have never met, simply because you disagree politically.
Whedon is one of many who stir the comic shop dwellers up into the streets to initiate chaos against decent people.
SMG said she has always been independent.
Firefly Adam Baldwin is a great guy. ( Not a Baldwin brother)
We could never rip-off any of the good British shows with Sanford & Son being an exception.
I remember a few like “Reggie”, another with Bea Arthur doing a Fawlty Towers, and that horrid Red Dwarf attempt.
If Hollywood tried to rip Dad’s Army, for example, it would be criminally awful.
At least intellectual sorts of shows like The Sandbaggers are safe. Those require some sense and attention spans.
> Buffy, Firefly, and Serenity
That was then; this is now. Joss is definitely showing his purple belly now, dong ma?
I’ve just wiped all remaining “Agents of SHIELD” off my DVR. No loss; it was quickly degenerating into an X-Files ‘chase the elusive bugaboo’ snark hunt.
Look at the small man attack women.
Oh it was even worse than just the terrible American wannabe shows that you named! The American copy of UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS was a monstrous calamity wrapped in revisionist/faux history. No...it was more horrible than that!
Nobody, but NOBODY, not even Brits, should attempt to redo FAWLTY...it can't and shouldn't be attempted! Bea Arthur shouldn't have even been considered for it.
Oh...you forgot about LIFE ON MARS. Now THAT American version I enjoyed more than the Brit one, but I'm guessing that that was because I wasn't all that familiar with Manchester slang, nor much of the Brit pop music of the time, but was all too familiar with the American stuff.
I’d rather forget about that travesty.
Somehow I don’t remember an American version of Upstairs Downstairs.
The stupid American US/DS took place in Boston and was crap. IIRC, it was on CBS. You’re better off having NEVER seen it!
Hollyweird can’t remake our classics.
They tried Kojak and Ironside. Those were products of their time.
I read of a rebooted Rockford Files that didn’t get anywhere for which I’m grateful.
There was the new Perry Mason in the 70s that was OK but the original is still the best.
Two words: Harvey Keitel. He made that show.
"Smash hit" it wasn't. I don't know if it was that much worse than the British version, but definitely it wasn't going to be a success on US commercial networks.
There hasn't been ANYTHING worth seeing, on non-cable T.V. in decades and not all that much on cable...for that matter.
There's been less than NOTHING new and/or as a revival, on Broadway, worth a damn and most assuredly NOT worth the price of a ticket, in at least two decades.
New movies? FORGET ABOUT THOSE!
I dare anyone who claims otherwise to watch even the mediocre old movies, on TCM and tell me that today's movies even come close to them, re acting, writing, direction, or anything!
Both the Brit AND the American versions were GREAT!
The America version was so far less/worse than the Brit original, it was laughable; though in retrospect, it was probably on par with DOWNTOWN ABBEY, which wasn’t all that good at all.
*sigh* And I really loved ‘Firefly’.
