Exactamundo!

Frost was to read his newly written poem "Dedication" for the inaugural, but the wind and sun glare was too much, and the poem was left unread.

Since that day the bitter Frost media family, including Jack, Killer, Early, David and others, have devoted their lives to wiping (not with a cloth!) any internet reference whatsoever of ol' Bob's misfire that unforgetable day.

And as we all now know it was KENNEDY who eventually received multiple hits; and Robert Louis Stevenson's father, Edinburgh, who went on to lose a close presidential race to Harry Truman.

” the bitter Frost media family, including Jack, Killer, Early, David and others, “
You appear to have forgotten some of the Frost clan!

Hoar Frost? Don’t hear much of her any more?

Advection Frost? He just stays on the farm most of the time.

Rime Frost? Him and Ol’Bob, oil and water!

Black Frost? Good thing Trump won, so I can bring that name up! I was going to delete Black Frost, but I had already hit the POST button. Just not as fast as I used to be.

You don't hear much?

That might be because you are talking about my wife, Mrs. Whitey!

Odd as it sounds, Scottish cuisine has a lot of French influence.

Think “creamy sauces”.

I was told it is due to both countries having the same historical enemy. They interacted a lot because of that.

When you had breakfast in Scotland, did you try the blood pudding?

Our hotel had it in the exact shape of McDonald’s hash browns.

Did not taste like McDonald’s hash browns.

I could barely look at the blood pudding much less eat it LOL. I also never understood the pork and beans on toast thing.

There’s a Scottish clan whose slogan translates to “Touch not the cat, but with a glove”.

I always got a kick out of that.

Just watched the movie “Genius” (about Thomas Wolfe) on HBO. It had as one of its main musical theme underlaying much of the movie, the traditional melody that Robert Burns wrote as “Flow Gently Sweet Afton.”

She said it was OK, nothing special.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

To make haggis special serve it with oat cakes and a wee drop of Drambuie on top. After a few of those you won’t know gill from gizzard!

Yes. England and Scotland were always intertwined with France - England, of course, claimed parts of France (Burgundy) as their own. Mary, Queen of Scots, of course, lived in France for many years. Scotland also has many, many Italian immigrants. Not unusual to meet Scots with Italian last names.

I just watched Genuis the other night (Wolfe is my favorite writer). Not a great movie but the acting was fine - even if Jude Law was about two feet shorter than Wolfe. But I thought Colin Firth stole the show. And Flow Gently Sweet Afton was used effectively.

Who was Robert Burns and what is the best haggis recipe?

He was a poet and the best haggis recipe follows.

Take one haggis, open one bottle of Scotch.

Drink the Scotch and use the haggis for target practice.

My dad says their slogan means “Be wary”.

I didn’t think they even had wild cats in Scotland.

My clan’s slogan is “Dread God”, which I think is awesome.

It means to have a overarching respect for God, not necessarily dread per se. Liberal members do not like it and have said so. Toughski Shitski, they were told!

Yes, they do have wild cats in Scotland.

They are not that large (about 10-15 pounds) but they are very wild and not tamable.

That glove had better be chain mail. :)

That “Some hae meat...” ditty is The Selkirk Grace. I think it is only attributed to Burns, not solid proof he wrote it. Sure sounds like his style.
