Salisbury steak was a specialty of Southern Railroad dining cars named for Salisbury North Carolina. One questions the ability of a yankee house wife to prepare it properly
Still hamburger. Housewives scmousewives. I’m the beef specialist in my house. Especially on the grille. Venison prime rib cooked rare over charcoal being my favorite.
Salisbury steak is what you get in a hungry man dinner......usually with green peas in the desert. If you want ground beef in some sort of sauce....try my Italian meatballs. (In fairness the wife makes a better sauce.....but she gets me to mix and roll the meatballs. )
Ps.... Salisbury Steak is what America called hamburgers during WW I to take the German sounding name off of them. Like Liberty Cabbage for sauerkraut and Hot Dogs for frankfurters
Down here we call it “country style” steak.
