The (former) first daughter has spoken. Chelsea Clinton defended Barron Trump while advising her Twitter followers to stand up to his father, Donald.
"Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid," the 36-year-old daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tweeted on Sunday, January 22. "Standing up for every kid also means opposing @POTUS policies that hurt kids."
Chelsea's comments appeared to be in response to the internet trolls who made jokes about Barron, 10, during the former reality TV star's inauguration on Friday, January 20. Several people were attacked on social media for "cyberbullying" the young child and his demeanor.
Modern Family actress Julie Bowen was one of the celebrities criticized for her comments about Barron. Throughout the inauguration ceremony, she posted Instagram pictures of Donald and first lady Melania's son looking down at the floor and holding his head in his hands. "Barron, a voting majority shares your horror," she jokingly captioned one post, much to fans' disapproval.

"Just because you don't like his dad, don't poke fun at the kid," one critic wrote to Bowen, 46, who later defended herself on Twitter, writing, "I love that Barron is just being a kid. My kids would be a horror show at a public event! Just trying to keep it light."

Twitter users also slammed Chelsea for her post. "Your mother lost. We don't want her nonsense in our nations politics," one user wrote. Others came to Chelsea's defense, pointing out the commander in chief's potentially dangerous policy agendas, including his controversial decision to nominate Betsy DeVos as secretary of Education and attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. "Getting rid of public schools, #ACA, & destroying the environment isn't good at all," one Twitter user noted.

The Clintons don’t do anything that doesn’t serve their agenda in one of three ways; a) political positioning, b) accruing power and c) accruing personal wealth. Not necessarily in that order.
That portrayal might be just a little bit over the top, even for Chelsea. It sure got my attention. Good Photoshopping along the hairline, though. It looks like she was ‘born that way’.
I do in some little way feel sorry for Chelsea,....I do,also. The woman looks a little like Eleanor Roosevelt. But talking about ugly, I ran into Amy Carter in O’hare airport and when I figured out who she was, I was dumbfounded!
from what I understand Monica Lewinsky is a recluse now. who is a leper as far as the left is concerned and is never allowed to forget her sin by us the right... she is definitely one I think we should feel some pity for.
Oh well now that Chelsea has spoken....
She should be investigated along with her parents for their corrupt slush fund and pay to play.
Clintons have been known to do the right thing for the wrong reason, such as Bill's support for welfare reform helping him retain the working class vote in '96. When stuck with having to work with a liberal, getting them to do the right thing for the wrong reason is less bad than watching them do the wrong thing, which we did for eight years under Trump's predecessor.
I was not impressed with this so called “defense” of Barron.
It was weak and really only a lead in to trash Trump.
Yes, you’re right, but even then I think you can attribute
Slick Willie’s actions to a, b or c or a combination thereof.
It’s also true that 0bama would do the wrong thing even if it
hurt him politically, personally or hurt the Democrat Party.
