It makes for a great story to sensationalize it, like saying Ty Cobb had anger issues (which is a lie too).

Ventura threw at some batters. He had maturity issues. The other teams honed in on it. Big deal. It's baseball. He wasn't the first, nor will he be the last. In the end, he was an extremely talented and promising pitcher with an exceptional fast ball, and he died too soon.
