The beauty of this is the fact that if these things were/are DOD assets that were offered for use by any local police department or Sheriff’s Office as needed. They would operate under the authority of that local government/ police chief/ sheriff etc.

Everything could get stretched thin and there would not be unlimited supply of drones.

Coordinating movements and responding quickly in an intelligent manner are not trivial tasks. All manner of countermeasure could be developed. Some of them would be really cheap.

It is one thing to win a war with drone swarm, but may be another to effectively enforce occupation.

Um - read much? I said the black market, not the Russian goverment. Russia make the best RF jammers in the world, bar none.

They would make a counter for such swarms and if there were demand from other militaries, sell them. Some of those would find there way to the balck market and to the US, provided they were small and hand held. So much for swarms.

You are looking at a very large scale combat operation which was not the intent of this post nor could I even begin to engage in this topic. Can we reign this discussion back to possible uses by local law enforcement as a tool for first responders?
