The controversy at an exclusive Maryland country club over whether to allow President Obama to join took a new turn when a member resigned Monday.
Jeffrey Slavin, a local mayor, dropped his membership on Martin Luther King Jr. Day because of the controversy, saying he could “no longer belong to a community” with such “intolerance.”
“I can no longer belong to a community,” Slavin wrote in an email to the general manager of the club.
“Where Intolerance is accepted, Where History is forgotten, Where Freedom of Speech is denied, And where the nation’s first black president is disrespected,” said Slavin, the mayor of Somerset, Maryland.
Slavin thanked the club for “many great memories” and signed his email, “Stay Woke.”
A copy of the email was obtained by the Washington Post.
As first reported by the New York Post, the controversy at the Woodmont Country Club, a predominantly Jewish club, stems from Obama’s controversial positions and actions regarding Israel, which have angered many members, including liberal Democrats.

Well, I don’t know. I would suppose there might be very simple and concrete reasons for not wanting him in their club. Not because he is beneath them, but because he is so much bigger than them, and would destroy their club “as they know it.”

And to think that Trump was the first to allow Jews and blacks into country club down in Palm Beach where those types of folks were banned from joining. But Trump is the racist.

This jackass said he could not deal with the intolerance directed at Hussein. BUT . . . he has no problem with Hussein’s intolerance toward Israel. I think the club will be better off without either he or Hussein being members.

Maybe the mayor was thinking of Groucho Marx who said he would not belong to any country club that would have him as a member.

I agree with the club members. They are mostly Jewish and Obama screwed Israel. Actions have consequences.

Why would a Jewish club give free or any membership to a many times over proven major active enemy of the multicultural, democratic state of Israel and the Jewish people? Slaven thinks he’s taking some kind of high road, but is suffering from a bad case of delusion and wishful thinking.
