Now that O’dumdum throws those things from parade floats, they kind of lose their importance.
Since the Vietnam War, when medals were handed out like candy, the degradation of medals has only gotten worse. Colonels in Nam got Silver Stars for merely being in country for6 months. The DOD issued more medals for Grenada than there were sevicemen on the island. Soldiers stationed in the States or Europe got the same preference as those who served in the war zone. Today you see more medals on some clerk who never left thd States than Admiral Halsey had. Civilian medals are even more degraded. The Freedom Medal is now officially worthless.
I think I threw up a little watching that mockery of the presidential medal of freedom.
Might as well have given it to his pet dog.
Just follows a pattern around the worldof awarding titles and honors to the undeserving:
Nobel peace prize to dip$hit Obama
Knighthood to Elton John, Bob Geldoff, Paul McCartney, etc
Medal of freedom to moron Biden
Just more evidence that Obama has no understanding of the purpose of the Medal of Freedom. He thinks awards like that and the Nobel Peace Prize are for belonging to the “right” ideology, not for actual achievement. Biden should have been crying from embarrassment, not gratitude, except that of course he’s a member of the “right” ideology, too.

I think what would be appropriate would be for Trump to fill out his cabinet and then award everyone in the new Trump administration with one. At the ceremony he could say “Øbongo set the bar so low that anyone could get one - so everybody gets one!”

I respectfully disagree. I have known heroic men who (as an example) were awarded the Distinguished Flying
Cross (Helicopters in Vietnam) and I have read their citations - they are not all still with us, but their heroism lives on eternally!
