What is insane is that the “transgender” community actually demands strict compliance with very strict, retrograde gender roles.
I actually had a mentally ill man in a dress at my former employer sexually harass me for over a year on how he was more of a woman than me. Criticized me hair, clothing, mannerisms, relative lack of makeup. I took it to HR, and they classified it as a spat between two women.
It had the surgery, but the demands for endorsement continued. “Let’s have girls’ lunch.” “Let’s go out for drinks.” “Let’s talk about X” - like trying to chat about soap operas, and I do not care. It could not tolerate anything less than wholesale endorsement, which I would not give.
It finally challenged me, “What makes you think you’re more of a woman than me?”
“You fathered a son. I gave birth to two children.”
Then it escalated to outright work interference.

The irony is that twenty years ago, I was a tom boy, played readily with boys though I had some dolls. My relatively gender neutral behavior drives my daughter nuts at times because I don’t emote like she does, don’t like the unpredictability of extreme emotion. That’s probably what drew me to engineering and IT versus more female dominated careers.
Per these insane people, my lack of conforming to social behavioral norms for genders (something feminists demanded and value) means I would potentially be labeled transgender. I’m not, but we have doctors endorsing this ...
I agree with Camille Pagalia that transgenderism as a fad undermines traditional feminism (equality, not 3rd wave women are better than men feminism). It also puts women at risk for sexual abuse by predators who claim to be transgenders, undermines social flexibility women enjoy, and encourages the displacement of women by “transgenders” in women’s sports and awards because the now-a-woman trumps the real women in those awards.

It is insane that I’ve been called not really a woman by feminists for not being feminist and criticized by transgenders as less of a woman than a dude in a dress. That both groups work together while undermining the stated intent of each is insane.

I don’t classify myself as such, but even as someone diagnosed as such, when I was a kid, the last thing you would ever want to try doing with me was call me a girl instead of a boy.
